Probably 'Night on the Galactic Railroad.' I think it was either because I was half asleep (it aired at two o clock AM) or I was fairly young at the time (16 at the most?) I ended up thinking 'Okay...Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?' An entire anime about death that revolves around magenta and blue kitties riding the rails...neat. Plus I liked the little story about the scorpian wishing its life (death) had more meaning. I need to see it again.

Dead Leaves, Lain, FLCL, etc...were very odd, but in a different way.

I'm going to go with Perfect Blue. I liked it a lot, but the plot kept switching around and changing the fundamental story elements established at the very beginning. You never knew quite what was reality, and what was a dream.

Aw, shame. Texhnolyze has one of the best endings in anime, and the second half is far more action and plot based. Well, as far as Texhnolyze can be, I guess. It was ****ing awesome, regardless.

And yeah, I guess that counts as weirdest for me, too. And Paranoia Agent. Dug the shit out of both.

I would have to say OnePiece, the show really never got me hooked so I never continued to watch it. Some say that it is good but I really never seen the greatness in it, maybe it was just me if so that is a terrible loss on my part.

Excel Saga is pretty weird, but I still absolutely love it, it's hilarious! An anime can be weird in a negative way or a positive way. In my opinion, Excel Saga is weird in a positive way. Akira is weird in a negative way, that one gives me some nightmares.

The episodes I've seen so far are really crazy.

I mean, the investigator guy who does all of the voices in the 1st/2nd episode, that crap scared me for real. XD

Other than that, just the premise of most of these people's stories. A girl who's alternate personality whores her out in the middle of the night? And the little boy who's so popular and loses everything going batshit?

Almost anything Satoshi Kon directed (Perfect Blue, Paranoia Agent, Millenium Actress). Plays with interweaving of realities. Dead Leaves was definitely interesting. Cannon Fodder makes you think twice about participating in society. It had an Orwell 1984 feel to it.
