Hey everyone n_n;
I have been looking for some more good shounen-ai titles to add to my collection but everytime I go to the bookstore... nothing really catches my eye.
Can you guys give me some good shounen-ai titles that you have read and liked? I don't mind yaoi but i not looking for something that is just straight up smut.
Titles I already own are, Legal Drug, Eerie Queerie, Hands Off!, Diabolo, and Until the full moon. I'm really interested in DMP's yaoi line but i wasn't sure which titles were good or not. I read "Only the ring finger knows" and loved it n_n! so the other DMP mangas interest me.
Thanks for your help n_n!
DMPs passion is pretty good. Of course, one can't go wrong with gravitation. Theres also Fake. I haven't really read a lot of the others available.

Lets see... this is a bit of a tough one, because it looks like you want to buy yaoi, and most of the yaoi and shounen-ai I procure is unlicensed.
Boys Next Door is indeed very good, but as far as I know, unliscenced. I'm a bit suprised you don't have Gravitation or Fake, as those two are very well known and both worth reading. Yellow is a newer release from DMP, and looks interesting as well.
Though DMP has a deal in place to distribute yaoi and shounen ai at some of the larger bookstores, it can still be sort of hard to find. You can get more info about their releases on their website, http://www.yaoi-manga.com/ , or ask the yaoi fangirls on their forums about titles.

If you buy a CLAMP manga there's a one in two chance it'll contain shounen-ai or at least heavily hinted shounen-ai implications. XD Can't go wrong with Tokyo Babylon and X.

I really like this site http://www.katandnekomanga.ca/index2.html
Good selection of reviews on both yaoi and yuri.

I noticed you didn't mention FAKE, Sanami Matoh's most popular shonen ai work, and a personal favorite of mine. It has a unique art style and setting and is a nice mixture of action, comedy and romance and a little less prone to the stereotypes that plaugue the genera. Another manga that's good for that, but very hard to find, is 'Mirage of Blaze', though the anime has seen a domestic release...I'm not sure the manga has.
DMP's shonen ai releases are pretty good, especially Passions, but if you’re looking for a line that releases a high volume of yaoi books you can’t do much better than ‘Be Beautiful’ which has the rights to various HARDCORE yaoi releases. Golden Cain and Selfish Love are fairly tame, but if you really want explicit yaoi action rather than cute and fuzzy there is the infamous ‘Target The Finder’ which I couldn’t even get through due to the content (secretly I prefer fluff...) but it’s worth checking out just to say you’ve read it.
‘Okane no Gai’, Color and Sekaino Owariga Furu Yoruni are good too, if you can find them.

Being a one shot didn't keep DMP from releasing 'Only the Ring Finger Knows...' and considering the populairty of the manga-ka it would be a wise investment.

That's really sad, I personally really like one shots. I mean I like series too, but i avoid buying series that will have allot of books in them just because i often feel that the story gets really dragged out. Don't get me wrong n_n; I know there are ALLOT of really great, really huge, series out there... but I don't like being strung along from month to month waiting for release dates @_@ (tokyo pop takes forever! ;-; ) I think that is one of the reasons why i like shounen ai and yaoi... they tend to be just 1 or 2 books.

I second Gravitation. It was magnificent. On the lines of corny, yet not quite. Definately classic, and the anime's music is amazing.

There are actually quite a few one-shots and shorter series lisecened and available in the US. It's just that the longer titles are normally more popular.
As for teh on topic, I wouldn't know, I don't find yaoi appeasing at all, and shounen ai is more or less "eh." I'm definately of the type to prefer shoujo-ai, but that's besides the point. The only good Yaoi/Shounen Ai that I've read I know isn't lisenced, except for the undertones in CCS.

You know, its odd but I can't think of any main stream shoujo-ai anime or manga that aren't hentai except for Utena and certain characters in Sailor Moon.
I have to disagree with those citing Gravitation as classic. I found the manga quite disjointed and poorly paced. The characterization was pretty bad...not to mention the constantly changing character designs. The anime is a vast improvement, though it has its faults. FAKE, while certainly having its own set of problems, is probably my pick for strongest, longish, yaoi manga. If hinted and implied shounen ai counts though it switches to Yami No Matsuei.

There isn't much. Most shoujo-ai is too girly for most guys to like it (IE, Sailor Moon and Utena), and girls don't like lesbian undertones generally. Just about all shoujo-ai goes yuri, in order to keep an audience.
In a lot of ways, girls are lucky with shoujo-ai/yaoi because it's written for them. Because guys enjoy lesbian relationships on a different level that girls tend to like shounen ai, all of your shoujo-ai goes to fit what those guys want, IE, pr0n.

I've never seen an actual "shoujo-ai" manga (besides the previously mentioned) in any bookstore I've visited. I've seen lot's of yaoi though ^^'' That's always a good sign.

Okay I know own Passions (1 & 2), Only the ring finger knows, and Fake (1-4). Best part of all? THEY WERE FREE!!! My friend (Spilled Milk) gave them all to me n_n;! Isn't she the greatest? I really like the DMP mangas, i'm not sure why but I kinda like how they have cover slips, and they are bigger then say Tokyo pop manga... which means bigger pictures. n_n; I'm really lucky that DMP makes so much shounen-ai o.o; I think i'm going to collect more of them.

DMP is really good and I adore the slip covers. I'm hoping that 'Be Beautiful' picks up more titles though as they're not quite so tame. Plus I feel a certain sense of loyalty to them after being roped into a presentation at a Con from a really amusing fellow wearing an Urahara hat (Yeah, Bleach!)
Does anyone happen to know when TokyoPop is releasing Loveless?

Love Mode is my favourite manga so far, but I think it's more yaoi than shounen-ai. But it has a great story and a lot of romance, so if you don't mind the occasional smut, you should read it.

I've read on Tokyopop.com that they're releasing Loveless in either February or March 2006. (Which is really good for me since I've been waiting for this manga for AGES!)
Let's see... Reccomendations, reccomendations... I can't really reccomend a lot of BL manga since I haven't read that much of the genre. I can and will reccomend Gravitation. Yes, it's a bit corny at times and the character designs change in just about every book, but it's a really funny series once you get into it. You can't go wrong with the anime, either.
I will also reccomend Boys Next Door (Shounen Zanzo). It is so sad to me (like a lot of you here) that this one-shot story is not released in English yet. I read the scanslation of it on *********. It's now one of my favorite stories of this genre. Sure, the themes in the story are a bit mature for some, but it's still one hell of a story and the art is G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S...
You can also check out the rest of ************ Some deal with yaoi/BL and some don't. You can't go wrong with them.
(By the way, I would love to mention that I enjoy talking about this subject with MATURE people. I am SO TIRED of talking about yaoi/BL with people who seem to be illiterate and only in the fifth grade...)

Uh... try watching Kyou Kara Maou... but it's not a hard core shounen-ai anime... but it's quite funny... XD

For that matter you should try Yamada Tarou. XD The shounen-ai is mainly hinted at, but how can you NOT love a main character who can hear a two yen piece hit the floor from a kilometer away. o:
