Finally, one of the highest~anticipated CD's of the year. Madonna's back. ^_~ Any fans? I've already heard most of it on "The Leak". The idea of the album is too cross generations and set a start for 'modern dance music'. I don't really know what all that means, but it's pretty wicked. "Hung Up" is an awesome first single.

Whatever. I never liked Madonna, and like her even less after finding out she tortures her kid.

I have not been thrilled with most of her work. What really turned me off was/is her constant reinvention of her "self" and image. Am I right to predict that she has a Cher complex?

Not at all impressed by her new single, seeing as its completely driven by an Abba sample and thats all its got going for it. I really don't understand how people can keep saying she manages to "reinvent" herself, considering most of the music shes produced hasn't been all that different at all, and she still acts the same. Then again i've never been too interested in anything she's done to be honest.

Why do we keep looking back to the same people to create the new "modern dance music?" Is creativity really so lacking in the music industry today that we need to rely on the same old revamped "new" songs from the same old people?

I was never a fan. But that's probably not surprising, considering what I do listen to. My world and the world of Madonna music just never collided or melded or whatever has to happen for me to like her.

I'm really looking forward to the next single, "Sorry". C'mon, I know there are some Madonna fans around here somewhere. As for her new CD, I purchased it Tuesday morning. At first, I was a little displeased. I thought most of the songs were weak. But, the more I listen to it, the more it grows onto me. I guess it's one of those things that takes time.

And, she is the Queen of Re-Invention. It's not that she does it for publicity; I guess inspiration takes it's turn on her, causing her too appear differently at times.

I'm more or less a Madonna fan, but I haven't really given much of her music an actual listening-to. I've heard pretty much all of her "classic" songs, and some of her newer music. meh, she's okay.

And her newest video is kinda weird. The outfit is... I dunno, not something that I think she should be wearing at her age. Especially not with the way she's raising her kids. XD

Yes, my mother hates it (jealous). It's based on Saturday Night Fever, one of the best movies of it's time. I've gotta say, the video reminds me of Fat Albert for some reason... seriously.

Isn't she part of the fake religion thing? Anyway shes not all that good in my opinion. On this album shes trying to copy Gwen Staffani(sp?) now that she has taked her place as the new "trendy one". Sometimes shes just.....weird.

Absolutely not; Madonna is full dedicated Kabbalan.

And, no, Gwen Stefani is my idol of, like, ever. Madonna & herself have not as much in common as people would like to believe.Madonna's newest CD is trying to transcend our generation and bring on the 'future disco'. Maybe you should take another listen too both.

Gwen's so diverse, of course celebs occasionally bounce inspiration off one another. That's how they stay fresh for 20+ years. . .

Y'know, I haven't heard anything off of the new album besides "Hung Up" from the music video, but I liked that song.

And Madonna is still friggin' hawt. She had me like this "O_O" and I quickly turned to this ":O~" and no more than 2 minutes later ">_<".

The song didn't have much depth, but it had a nice beat and I dug. A little long though.

Hope to hear some other stuff off the album soon.

"Hung Up" is one of the best songs on the album if you want a great beat. Her next single, "Sorry", is very beautiful & actually deep. Although I don't think a dance record needs too be deep.

Absolutely not; Madonna is full dedicated Christian.

No, she really isn't. She's part of this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabbalah).

I essentially agree with Filthy Harrington here - Madonna is still very, very hot and 'Hung Up' is really fun. I just dig the "time goes by so slowly" bit. Great pop music, good enough to make me investigate the album at any rate.

Didn't Madonna changed her name to Esther or something because she embraced the Jewish religion?

Yeah, something like that. Apparently the track 'Isaac' on the new album is all about her newfound faith (by newfound, 1998...so, yeah) - as I say, I've yet to hear it.

As for Issac. . . It's a great song, very mystical, but her name being Esther was more a suttle change.

You do know that you can have an artistic name and a personal one, right?

Or do you believe Eminem actually is that rapper's actual name?

anyway...

I know, I know.
It's mainly a "rebirth" in the religion.

Madonna + Ska would be as painful as Oprah + Christmas Album.

If she's so washed up, don't listen too her. You've got control on what you hear.
Don't complain over something you control.

Yes, I've changed my name a couple of times as well.
Is this an attempt to show she cares about Kabbalah? I wonder what Britney's name is. . . Or Mick, for that matter.
Lets get this straight.....the stars Kabbalah is WAY different then the Jews.

The one Madonna and every other cleb is part of was made up by a family in the south(don't know state for sure) about a couple of years ago. They are just fooling clebs for their money.

The real Kabbalah is supposed to be study from birth. They dedicate their life to death just to this religion and nothing else really. Plus they don't wear those stupid little red string thingies around their wrist.

Different

No, Kabbalah-ism (?) is an actual religion.
Come celebs find it "trendy" to be appart of a religion no one's heard of.

Madonna's loyal too it, however.
She's seriously deep in her religion and I respect her for it.

No, Kabbalah-ism (?) is an actual religion; I guess most celebs really wanted to prove 'unique' and became a part of it. It's better than all that 'scientology' & what-not.

I believe Madonna's loyal too it, however. She's seriously deep in her religion, what ever it may be, and I respect her for it.
I might of not made it clear enogh. There is a real Jewish religion called Kabbalah, the stars one is not real.

I know this thread is washed-up & should die, but I just had to post a link to the new video, "Get Together (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guf6FlKs_lE)". One of the most amazing videos I've ever witnessed. I didn't think it was necessary to create a seperate thread...

Take a gander.

To quote Family Guy:

Guy 1: "So what's your favorite Maddona album?"
Guy 2: "I really liked all of her early works."
Narrator: "If he says anything but 'I don't like Madonna', you've got a gay!"
