Like the title says. What kind of hobbies do you do that your friends consider to be stupid and a waste of time. But you ignore them and still do it. Me, I take the tops off of pop cans and collect them for no reason I have yet to understand. And yes I'm sure this has been done before.

I picked up a stupid hobbie pretty recently. I decided I would start throwing cards. I have yet to make a simple playing card a weapon, but a sharpened game stop gift card does pack quite a punch. I'm able to throw it with enough force to get stuck in a water melon, which I think is fairly impressive. I also collect fortune cookie fortunes for no apparent reason. Those are my only two hobbies that can be considered completely pointless.

I collect bottles and bottle caps, pocket watches, Wallpapers for my desktop, and random video clips for games coming out in the future that I want. (as well as other useless videos)
Also watching anime and reading manga, but I would consider that not pointless. At least comapred to my other hobbies.

I am the king of stupid hobbies! At least my friends frequently tell me that...
1) Playing with yo-yo's (I’ve won a tournament before)
2) Playing Chess and Go
3) Collecting matches, and have a board that I place pornographic ones on.
4) Exploding cans. (I shake up cans of pop/beer and throw darts at them. It's fun to watch them to explode!)
5) Watching anime
6) Reading books
7) Collecting Sharpies (the permanent markers)
8) Playing with the little kids that live by me.
9) Wood carving
10) Coin collecting
11) Making different types of paper airplanes
12) Walking (My friends always yell at me for walking somewhere instead of driving)
13) Sowing and knitting
14) Playing with a pogo stick! (I can pogo stick no handed or with my feet pointed toward the sky. My current record is 4310 bounces, I got to tired to go any further)

I collect pictures of pretty people. I've got about a bajillion pictures of Ken Kitamura, AKA the dude in my sig, and a bunch of pics of Jessica Alba, Britney Spears, Danny Masterson, Milo Ventimiglia, Alexis Bledel, Scarlett Johansson, Liv Tyler... I could go on and on. But yeah, I don't really know why I have them, the only reason I can think of is that I like to look at pretty people.
XD Yeah, I'm weird.

I collect all sorts of smiley face stuff. I have a Gel Lamp, Stickers (which I stuck to a black bristol board to make a neat collage), Smiley Piggybank, Smiley Pillow, Smiley Stressball, Smiley Water Pitcher, etc...just about anything smiley that I find. It's kinda stupid, but whatever makes you happy.
I also like chucking muffins at the wall when I'm bored.
Reading into something too much, questioning things too much it's fun but it annoys everyone around you really really fast. And also scientific research that originated from playing Parasite Eve II too much, I just started researching mitochondria and found it really was interesting from a site known as the "mitochondria research foundation" and have gone on to other related things, but obviously I receive a lot of fire from those around me for doing anything that makes me smarter but it is interesting what you can learn, a lot of things that interest me came from media, yeah it's dumb but I have learned a lot of cool facts that I can back up with evidence.

In reference to number four I have remember another hobbie of mine, throwing soda off of buildings. There is nothing more fun than taking a 2 liter bottle of soda shaking it up, and throwing it off a building. After the soda explosion you should also check the bottle for any remains. Soda tastes best when thrown off a roof.

Yeah, I'm another person that wasn't quick enough with that response.
- Air Guitar.
For people who can't dance! It's one thing just to listen to music, this is sort of an aural/kinetic way of getting into it. For me it's an entertaining way to de-stress. It's kind of like this: some people do yoga, some people punch a punching bag, some people go for a run. I air guitar. Although I would probably die if someone caught me doing it. :D
- Collecting manga!
There we go! Extra stupid considering how bloody expensive it is down here.

1. Getting into bands, movies, that are so obscure it takes forever to find anything by them. Amen for that (by the way anyone know any good net shop for Slovakian movies?).
Also, surfing forums and spending time replying to threads and posts that, in the end, won't lead anywhere since it's ~100th time I've had the same debate. And does getting wasted count?

Damn straight, but I go for the air band, bass, drums, violin, accordian, whatever instrument I pick up on the most when I'm listening!
I can add collecting anime DVD's as well.......and I wonder why I'm poor.
I also collect train tickets for some reason. I have almost every train ticket I've used from the time I started uni.

It's an old quote, but I've found myself doing that alot lately. Trustworthy and cheap sourced of traditional Hungarian music and movies are most appreciated.
I must also add the interent to my list of pointless hobbies. It is so easy to waste away a few hours and get nothing done.....
Oh, I've given up collecting train tickets..
