Well that alll depends on what you like. If you like true punk better than get answer that and stay fashonable or Very proud of ya, if you like other kindof stuff, still punk, but nt as punkish, get sing the sorrow, its pretty cool. Best song on thier is dancing through sunday, I have a shirt of it it say "we dance in misery" its pretty cool.

other good albums are: The art of drowning, and Black sail in the setting sun. They also have a greatest hits out I think, its just called afi.

I hate you jedinator. I officially hate you more than anything in the world. I did this thread roughly a couple of months ago.

But once again, here we go. I like the art of drowning. It is one of the few cds that i jack of the volume in my truck to listen to. Davie Havoc has had multiple voice problems and their site has not been updated in over a year. I dont think they will ever release a new album again. Dont count on it. Davie put himself in this situation. There were very few songs that he actually sang with a lower pitched voice. Most of his songs he sang with a very high pitch to it. Thats what got him. When he talks he has a very deep voice, deeper than most people. But putting that kind of pressure on his vocals cost him. He had to see doctors and ended up stop touring for the longest time. Their website has not been updated in over a year. Ticketmaster doesn't have any tickets on sale for them.

Unfortunately, my all time favorite band..... now gone.

afi's stuff on their CD's are ok, but the songs they put out as singles are a little too whiny for me. the gy's voice is very nasal when he gets up to those high notes, and it's annoying. it's also why i don't like NFG. their main singer is too nasal as well.

Ok. Rabits are Roadkill is the new single. If you want to hear its awesomeness then go to myspace.com theres a little bar that has a bunch of different things in it but you need to click music. Go to the search thing and put search by band and put the catagory as punk. Type it exactly like this AFI and if that does not work than try a fire in side or afi. Anyways it will be about 3 or 4 things down in the list. Jake if you can give him a link that would be cool.

I haven't looked too deeply into their lyrics, I know enough to know they definatly ARE NOT emo, but I didn't realize they were about friendship... hmmm thats really cool! n_n

There early stuff was good and harder (if I can remember right) I haven't heard they're early stuff for a while (Snowboarding hasn't started yet, so that means less riding in the car with my older brother... who likes AFI too :p ) but if my recolection serves me correctly, they were good (really almost anything they dish is good!)

Anyways, yeah you can say I like AFI, I'm a member of the Despair Faction but since I live on the other side of the world it's kinda' hard to get anything .. though I have gotten one magazine in one year. I haven't listened to AFI for a long time, but they truly make some kickass music. I must say, though it may not be "true" of me to say so, but I feel that their new albums are much, much more mature. The lyrics have always had some kinda deeper meaning; even from them at their most punk. The Art of Drowning and Black Sails in the Sunset are both magnificent albums. Answer that and stay fashionable is abit too "boring punk" for me, to be honest. I love the mood they set in "Sing the sorrow", and I don't really find it to be emo or depressing or anything. :)

[Edit:] And to Lupin the 3rd: You can say the vocalist sucks, that's your opinion. However, he has a truly distinctive and unique voice unlike any other bands in this type of genre. He displays diversity, and a tonal range that is truly incredible. Can you sing what he sings in the same pitch? I challenge you to try to do so. ;)

Endlessly, She Said probably seems in my eyes to be the one with plenty o' potential. :D I mean, if this is even close to the best song AFI has ever written (again, in my opinion) -- ..but home is nowhere. That song is so beautiful, it really touched me the first time I heard it.

It's here! In good old Blighty anyway. Ha ha ha.

Decemberunderground is bloody, bloody good. I'm listening to it right now and so far the very eighties-sounding 'The Missing Frame' is probably my favourite track, but there's not a single dud here like there was on Sing the Sorrow (not many though, just the odd track I always skipped). The actual sound of the album is essentially a progression from that one, only with more experimentation and diversity. It's very rich and exciting stuff, and as usual the lyrics, music and Davey's voice are as up to scratch as always. Worth waiting for, undoubtedly. I'll post a more detailed review later this week.

I love the new album, its great, not quite as good as sing the sorrow but I still have yet to find a single AFI song that I do not like.
