Okay, anime buffs and professors, I need assistance (what else is new, right?). What I'm looking for is an anime show that used to air on UPN a long time ago. (About 1996 - 1999)

Okay, here is what I can remember:

The world was at war. There was a ring around the earth (kind of like one of the rings around Saturn) that was a space station, and the people on the space station were trying to take over the world.

On the space station there were 2 rivals, one being the main character and the other being his enemy. They had a duel, the main character lost and was sent plummeting to the Earth.

He didn't die, he lost his memory and began to fight on the Earth's side against the people on the space station.

That's all I can remember, and I'm trying to find out because the show was cancelled and I didn't get to see what happened or how it ended. Please help!

I'm not too sure if this is the same anime, either (and sorry for butting into your thread):

There was also an anime (I believe) shown during that period on UPN. I've been trying to find the name of it for quite a while. Well all I can remember is...

- a character in rags wandering a desert
- some sort of mecha or armour that the protagonist wears which gives him strength (I believe) and the ability to release "cannon shields" from his shoulders. From these "shields", he would be able to shoot green beams to attack his enemy

...yes, crazy, no?

Teknoman or Tekkaman Blade.

Yes, that's it! Hmm, so it's called Teknoman...I don't remember that. 'Kay, now does anyone know if it was ever released on DVD? I guess my next step is to try and find out.

Soundchazer, would you by any chance know how it ended?:)

Thanks again!

Errr.. Look at the top of the picture and you'll notice something that strongly resembles a mech.

This is a really old topic but...

The show WAS Teknoman (or Tekkaman Blade) in Japan. The series aired on UPN Kids on Sunday mornings at 10:30am from September 1995 - September 1996. A total of 26 episodes aired on UPN.

There were actually two different dub versions of the show. There was the 'American version' (airing on UPN - the one you watched) and the 'International Version' which aired in Europe. Teknoman is now being released on DVD and the International dub is being used.

Collection One: amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000EOTU0S/upn11
Collection Two: amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000F2CAJC/upn11

The other series that aired alongside Teknoman was Space Strikers. This show had 13 episodes and aired before Teknoman at 10am.

Hope that helps ya out. I've been looking for the series on DVD for years and just found it an Anime North over the weekend. Enjoy!
