Has anyone here ever played guilty gear, any of them? I think they're the best when it comes to 2-d fighting.

I've played them all and it is definately top notch. GGXX#R is one of the best fighting games there is. It's up there with Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Capcom vs. SNK 2.

I played 2 of them and own the one for gba. There really fun to play in the arcade if you lucky enough to play it at one. Ky is the best charectar ;)

Ky collects tea cups.... Look up his profile. That's his hobby. Still the best?

Personally, I'm really good with ex Sol. I'm also pretty good with Millia, Chip, and Ky too (yeah, the teacup guy!). But, ex Sol is definately my favorite.

my favorite guilty gear character is the docter with that bag over his head.

I've played X2 and Isuka. Both are great games. Now, the fighting genre will never be as big as it was WAY back when, but games like GG will sure give you the feeling it is.

The X-Series Guilty Gears are probably the best. Isuka has a mixed reception from people but in generally fought of as not as good for 1-on-1 fighting as XX#Reload.
Guilty Gear for Psx is not even considered a part of the same series by Sammy.
X was where things really took off :D

Johnny is my favorate character, he so pimpin'

x2 and Isuka
But BAIKEN, kick all your asses :D
or Jam, Jam's pretty good
But yeah the Guilty Gear series is right up there in 2D fighting games, definately

GGXX Slash is the greatest.

Eddie is the best. I love A.B.A and Venom though.

dont know, i played just XX#Reload - it got here 2 years ago, i think...
probably quite later than it was made.
anyway, it was a few months of real fun, until everybody stopped playing with me cuz "it is boring to play it anymore"... :_insane: yeah, right - the real reason is "not fun to lose so often":migrane:

I absolutely love Guilty Gear. Everything is perfect. The system is fast, easy to pick up but hard to master, with the possibility of turning the tide of the battle no matter what, and general fun at all times. Character designs are some of the best in the business, and are perfectly complimented by the voice acting and animation. Better yet, most characters' movements feel fresh and different (even if in some cases they're not).

All that makes the Guilty Gear series a hoot to play. It's one of the Xbox games I regret selling the most (I sold most of my Xbox inventory to afford an X360).

Oh, Faust and Robo-Ky are hilarious. Good times with those guys.

I have been a fan of the series for years, it was one of the few games that I actually wanted to get the soundtrack for.

BTW, my personal favorites are Anji, Baiken, and Order-Sol (appeared in XX/)

And already there is a new one being made called Accent Core. It seems there will be some significant changes, like throw breaking, a new defensive technique called slash back, and new versions of special moves called Force Break which is similar to Darkstalkers' or Street Fighter 3 Third Strike's EX moves. A lot of character revamping as well. I know I will forever miss Zato-1/Eddie's Eddy buzzsaw move...

Sweet. What system/s will it be made for? I'm starting to get into Guilty Gear, but the only one that I own and have played is Guilty Gear X2: Reload. My favourite character is the guy in the blue and white trenchcoat, blonde hair and an electric sword. I haven't played the game too much, but it is one of the best 2D fighters that I've played.

that's Ky Kiske

THP, is accent core like Isuka, or does it actually continue the story

SonicTHP

It is unclear wether it continues the story or not, and there have not been any new characters revealed yet, but it is a traditional 1-on-1 fighter. There are a lot of move changes apparently, Ky specifically, and from what I have heard at the Dustloop forums (http://www.dustloop.com/forums/), Eddie as well. The voices are being re-recorded as well.

Edit: Oh, and as of right now it is only being tested in japanese arcades, so it is too early to say if or when it will be on consoles.

Edit 2: And some scanned images of the little pamphlet at the location test. Pics are here (http://www.kobayan.jp/).

The backgrounds look like redraws of the GGX/GGXX stages. I like that. As long as this game is not 100% crappy like Isuka, I will love it.

I have GGX2 on the ps2 and I'm not exactely interested in the others simply because I don't feel like buying the same game twice. It's a good 2d fighter but I still prefer CVS2. GGX2 is too much of a button masher even though it does have the finishing work that capcom lacks. (Stop using 10 year old sprites damnit!)

My favourite character is another hard question. I like Zato/Eddie, Bridget, I-No, Faust and a couple more.

If you like this game, you might like another old school fighter called Melty Blood(the name sucks but its a fun game).

Is that Arcueid?
