risen unless you're a mod why don't you just stay on topic? Maybe THAT would be a good idea! Or at the least answer his question, instead of saying something that you can't DO anything about.
I enjoy listening to rock, and occaisionally pop *really only jpop, not a big fan of american pop* I just enjoy rock a little more because I really like guitars. I listen to more JROCK than American Rock really only because, despite living in america, I've been exposed to more J-Rock than A-Rock xD.

fine but i can still do it anyway. my favorite anime music would be emotional (sorry if it's spelled wrong) ones.

You're so damn specific! I think he asked what kind of music we like in general, not just anime music. How do you mean by emotional? Ballads? Voltron music? What?
Like Naota16 I enjoy rock music primarily, but I listen to quite a wide range of stuff. Singer-songwriters, electronica, some pop...I listen to Western music and Jrock/pop pretty much equally.

Rock. More specifically 60's-70's classic rock, which again can be divided into even smaller catagories. but I'll stick with, "60-70's experiemental/progressive rock", which covers a wide range of styles and bands.
Second is punk, preferably the original 70's and 80's punk, mostly hardcore.
Third is alternative rock and grunge.
Then comes Hair Metal and Stadium Rock.
Finally is techno and electronica, which is obviously not rock, but it's a style I like.

I listen to Rock, Rap, and pop. Im pretty cool when it comes to music, as long as it isn't country or heavy metal.

rock (soft normally), rap, pop, jpop, jrock, heavy metal, synphonies (my moms cds like "Enya" ^^)
the music has to have a good beat & lyrics have to match the beat, otherwise it's trash to me :p

well techno pop and metal and 80's and 70's music would my normal favorite type of music.

Ah, as for me-
Gothic, Industrial, Synthpop, Futurepop,New Wave, Electrowave, Electroclash, Noise, D&B, Europop, Eurowave, J-pop, J-rock, Visual Kei, Opera, Classical, Swing, Punk, and some (very little) Rockabilly.
There could be more I missed. It's hard to keep all these genres straight. Really though, half of those are all the same thing or at least overlap a great deal.

I listen too just about anything. Mostly music from the 60's and 70's or indie music like the Decemberist, the Shins, and Modest Mouse(but there not that indie anymore).

In no particular order I most like rock, punk, jazz, ska, classical. But I suppose most of what I listen to is the "new rock" on the radio, since I listen to most of my music in the car. But, the majority of my cd's are somewhere between punk, ska, and swing.
Rap/Hip Hop primarily, wide variety of Rock in close second, then bits of techno, orchestral, classical, blues, etc. I guess the better question is "what don't you like," in which case I'd generally point to Country (it has its exceptions) and Heavy Metal.

I'll give anything a listen. I like many different types of music. I think pretty much the only genres I shy away from are rap and country and even then, just some pretty specific sub-genres. Hardcore, gangsta rap isn't for me, and neither is hillbilly full-blown country music. But I enjoy cranking up some N.E.R.D. or some Lee Ann Womack from time to time.
Lately I've been listening to a lot of alternative rock like Matthew Good and a sort of techno-rockish blend of music, including Placebo and Powerman 5000. And I always find time to fire up some Beethoven, Berlioz, Bach and Orff.

You obviously haven't heard any good rap. Try listening to some Grandmaster Flash for starters and go on from there.

Right now I'm into rock, both old and new. But, I'd give anything a listen once because there's usually at least one song in a genre that I like. Except techno. I'm yet to hear anything good come out of that.

I have heard quite a bit of it, starting with Grandmaster Flash (duh, I'm over 30, so I KNOW about them).
I just refuse to acknowledge versing and ripped off music tracks from other groups as music.

Hm, I'll listen to any rock between the Beatles and Nirvana... I've been told it's hippie Woodstock-esque stuff... Hm.
I also enjoy all genres of metal made in the past ten years... as long as it is loud enough to send my speakers to the brink of annihilation. :headbang:

i like my techno, classical, modern-orchestrated-kinda-symphonic-sounding (Bond (http://www.bondmusic.net/)), rock, rap (Heiroglyphics!), and the occasional Glenn Miller tune
EDIT:
And say, wouldn't it be best to respect xamdbz01's opinions? Like they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Psssh, if you love them you should know their name! It's ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, don't forget it.
I really need to hear some more ORANGE RANGE though - I've really enjoyed what I've heard by them so far. I'm pleased that they're releasing their Bleach opening song Asterisk next month (Feb 23rd I think). Is their latest album MusiQ any good?

"Alternative Metal" so I've heard it called. But I also like softer rock dipping into what I guess is called "Hard Alternative Rock" ranging into some full-blown "Death Metal"
Softest end of the stick being stuff like Breaking Benjamin ranging into Static-X to Slipknot to Cradle of Filth and 3 Inches of Blood.
Then there's always the good Classic stuff, David Bowie, the Beatles, Led Zepplin and whatnot.

Classical or Pop is nice... I also listen to some anime themes, which is just sad, because I can't understand most of the lyrics... As for classical, I'd prefer something with a macabre or haunting feel to it... Listening to stuff like that makes me ecstatic...

I mostly listen to, and identify with Metal, but I have a wide variety of musical tastes. Johnny Cash, Rap, Hip-hop, a variety of Electronic music genres. I dislike Emo primarily on a musical basis, but I won't say that I'm not against it's ideology. I love opera and baroque music. Classic Rock is always good. I will listen to pretty much anything you throw at me, I guess.

I'm pretty open to most music, I'll listen to anything once. Having said that, I really can't stand most rap and country, there is some out there that I can stand to listen to or even enjoy, but those songs are few and far between. I listen mostly to rock in one form or another.
