anyway I jsut went back through halo 2's legendary mode for the tenth time ....legendary mode isn't as easy this time through as the others considering only a few shots will destroy your shields lol
I sure would like to do that some time, but as a heads up it will be a while I am getting my Xbox moded right at the moment so Wait about a month.
Also i would Either be under the gamertag of Shadow OF Fear or Intimidator
and as a question go to the gliches thread that i have made and tell me what you think about superjumps in the game.

The last I completed was Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, which was last night. The game is easy as shit, I ran through the game on hard without saving once.

Finished Doom 3 last night. I would have to vote this my scariest game to date, but I have an....aquired.... copy of F.E.A.R to play with, and form what I've been hearing, that might take Doom 3's place.
A word of warning! Doom 3 is not for the easily disturbed, hell even for veterens there are a few things that cross the line. Otherwise this is a really fun game. The atmosphere is set up perfectly, with all the PDAs and stuff, and there are more that a few pants changing moments. Not only that, the storyline is actually quite engaging, one wonders what the hell the scriptwriters of the Doom movie were thinking when they could have adapted this. The bosses are actually challenging, not frustratingly hard (amazing!).
Now for the not so good part so the game. I really missed having a melee attack with all the weapons. There were countless times when I found myself cornered by a couple beasties and no ammo in the magazine, and changing weapons usually takes about as long as reloading, so being able to beat them would have been nice.
The game is not a pretty game, the beasties are all rather...drab. Some variety in the colour scheme would have been most acceptable.
On some storyline items, I missed finding out what was going on with Betruger, what was happening in his mind. And I never did find out what happened to Campbell.
All in all a fantastic game.
Edit: Another thing that was a little disapointing. There was too much ammo, I never went short at all. Having to count your shots was one those things that made Doom Doom......hmmm, there's a Revenant and a Hell Knight over there, and I have 10 shotgun shells to deal with them.....Of course the smart player would try to get them to fight each other....

After a marathon session I finished Doom 3: Resurreciton of Evil a few minutes ago.
Overall a decent expansion. Things were good up until Delta labs, where things got a little too disorientating. I don't know whether that was my system or not, but the transition from hell hole to science lab wasn't done smoothly. It also seemed to want more resourses than Doom 3, it chunked up in places, whereas I didn't have a problem with Doom 3.
There are 2 sections that I found to be extremely frustrating, to the point that I felt that I had to put on god mode. I always feel bad when I cheat, but after getitng through the first frustrating bit, I was wondering 'What were they thinking?' The number of high powered monsters was definately on par with the original Doom game, but there wasn't enough space to play effectively. The last was the final boss. I don't like it when I have to concentrate of fighting both minions and the boss, especially when you're done fighting the minions th boss has flown out of sight. Again I ended up godmoding.
The double barrelled shotty was just like it's Doom 2 counterpart - awsomely powerful but an ammo hog, and the artifact was an interesting piece of equipment.
Recommended playing, but be warned that it may get frustrating in the end.

I beat Perfect Dark Zero on the 31st of December. The story mode was a lot better than I thought it would be, and I only beat it on Agent (yeah, I know it took awhile, but I was hardly home during the holidays to play my 360 as much as I wanted to). Anyways, great game. It's really fun to play on cooperative mode as well. Soon, it'll be time to try it online...

I completed F.E.A.R today. Not a bad game. I quite enjoyed it, and I thought the close quarters combat concepts displayed in this game were very good, I hope it's trend setting. The atmosphere set up was magnificent, very creepy. So much so that I have made a new rule: Do not play these games late at night, because I begin to have trouble sleeping.
An interesting twist at the end as well, but I don't think the background for your character was exploited enough to make that work properly. In fact, there is no background for your character, not even a name. That was disapointing.
Every game has it's downside, and in this game the armour piercing weapons.....well, didn't. That made thing like battle armour and mecha very difficult to combat, to the point of frustration on more that a few occasions. As much as the CQC stuff was good, I felt they went a bit overboard on the dust, and the bots could still target you through the dust, which was incredibly annoying, as the dust otherwise obscures everything until it clears.
The next item is more of a wishlist item rather than a problem. It was very clear, especially with battle armour, that there are parts of the body unarmoured, and I feel that someone should finally code something to take advantage of that. When that battle armour doubled over, and I stuck a shotgun up his unprotected arse, I didn't want to see armour sparks.
Overall a decent game.
And one final point. I mentioned in my Doom 3 post that F.E.A.R may take it's place for scarier game. Well, it ties. They both go for different kinds of scary, Doom for a more visceral shocking scary, and F.E.A.R a more pyscho mind-scary. As for which is the better game......Personally I liked Doom better, I felt more satisfied after I finished it. I don't remember any sort of frustrating bit (discounting the age old 'I've gotten so far and died, but I forget to save!!!! frustrating.), whereas a number of parts in F.E.A.R had me pulling at hairs.

fun game...the ending kinda left you to hang though
I mean it was like
"she left...now what?"
and I DID want to see Majorly and everyone else again...I think I went through the wrong door >.>
but if I did wanted to see what was next all I have to do is beat the final boss again
in all seriousness, Rhapsody is pretty easy....either that or I'm overleveled :p
EDIT: ohhh...setting us up for the next games in the series (Angel's Present/Marl series) of course they didn't say her name is Kururu but I know it's something like that because I made translation of name attempts in the past :XD: oh man, I want them to release the rest of the series >.<

I just got the game and I have already beaten it, the game is Fable and it was just way to short for me to even enjoy most of the time. Gameplay was great and graphics were good to at that, the only thing that got me was the length of the game. I also thought that the story line was really good to. I bet the game in the Pefect form or in other words {Good}, during the game the best part was the battle arena or battle dome which ever you may call it.

Resident Evil 4(PS2).
Beat it yesterday, defenetly the longest RE game i've played. It has some memorable bosses, lots of action, some puzzles(but not as much as previous games)and because of the new gameplay system killing zombies has never been this much fun :D. And the best part is that the game still has plenty of replay value, now i'm defenetly checking out those Resident Evil games for the Gamecube.
Tales of Symphonia. Probably the best RPG I've played since the SNES era.

Last night I finished Serious Sam II.
To be honest, I liked the first one better. The first one was a very silly game, encompassing the heart of every FPS ever made, but it maintained the facade of a serious action game. That made it even more entertaining, having to look for the really funny bits. Who could forget the suicide bomber?
However, in no.2, they went for over the top cartoon silly. It just wasn't as funny when it's there slapping you in the face.
Another really annoying thing about it was the sheer number of absolutely insane levels. I managed to get through to the final boss, but I couldn't beat him without cheating, and that was on normal difficulty. In number 1, there were it's fair share of annoying bits, but in number 2 it was like every second level secton consisted of waves and waves of monsters without end. In some cases, it was like sensory overload. To many targets, too many different targets and not enough guns on screen to kill them all.
Now I don't mind things being hard, I like being challenged, but I got the impression that a lot of it was hard just for the sake of being hard. When I am thumping the quick load button and muttering 'this is the effing nth effing time I've had to load this effing level', I'm not having fun.
In the end, It wasn't a bad game, but I spent more time being frustrated than having fun, so it's not a great game either. Here's hoping that no.3 (if there is one) will be better.
Just finished beating Chrono Cross a little over an hour ago.

This game was extremely fun and even though I've unlocked everything I still haven't gotten bored of this one yet.
I finished Shadow of Destiny last week, and after finishing it all i can say is that the game is more interesthing than i thought, it had a pretty good mystery oriented plot(the indentity of the killer was completily unexpected). The only real problem with the game is that it's real short(i finished the game twice in less than 10 hours), at least it tries to compensate this by having 5 different endings so it at least has some replay value(unlocking all the endings is not a easy task).

Little did I konw, but I actually completed Warcraft II Tides of Darkness. Both campaigns had their share of laughs. From the yelling of the grunts and peons when they say, "WHAT?!?!?!" to the introduction of the axethrower's little friend, and finally the footman asking me why I'm still touching him. hilarious fun, and whoa the Dark Portal destroyed? guess I beat it. Bonus.

Wild Arms 4 - I sort of got this randomly and not being fond of 2 and 3, I have doubts about it and it turned out to be a lot better than I though. Sure its cliche and not so long and not so typical wild arms (which is probobly a good thing). The battle system is unique to though it have its flaws. Overall I had a veyr good time with the game and glad I got it.
3/5/06
Suikoden III - This on the other hand dissapointed me a little bit though it is still great. I had high expectations for it which is probobly what sort of ruined it for me since few people here at AA hyped it and eventually I took action and got it on ebay.
It is certainly ambitious with how much the game has to offer to make your character better and how big of a story it attempted to pull off. There were not any real plotholes I find, but what I felt is that the story did not much too much impact with me. It did not feel so intense despite it being a war story and felt the characters arent that great generally. Also even though I got all 108 stars (alive and well so I unlocked Lucs story) the castle still looked runned down and empty so that was sort of dissapointing to me.
Great game, but I still find II to be vastly surpirior and playing III gave me an itch to play through it again.

I found Banjo Kazooie to be harder than its sequel (it took me quite a while to beat the witch....)
I would recommend getting Goemon (N64) if you can find it. Nice little adventure, which is quite a nice size (in gameplay), but the robot battles are the best part of the game.

Suikoden V- A real masterpiece and easily surpassed III (good, but debatable) and IV (lame in comparison). I still liked II a bit more mainly because of better villains than again, its next to impossible to surpass Luca Blight and Jowy was not such a typical villian either who did value friednship despite being on opposing sides. V is very close to II anyhow so it is still excelent by all means and all of you should play it already.
I find V to have better good guys for the most part each with some depth and thought II had better leads (Jowy, Nanami, Viktor and Flik) and much more interesting villians in my opinion.

I just beat Kingdom Hearts 2 today, amidst my heavy school schedule. It was a great game, but for some reason, I enjoyed the first a tad more. Mainly because the first had more interactive environments (I remember platforming a lot more in KH1), made better use out of your magic (instead of just relying on your attack button), the colusiem tournament, a better town to come back to (I liked traverse town more than twilight town), and it just felt more original the first time around.
However, the second game had better summons, the drive forms, the reaction commands, some great characters that show more of themselves (and some you can interact with for once), and a slightly better story. The nobodies were also interesting to fight. KH2 also had a few awesome worlds (The black and white world, lion king world, a better Nightmare Before Christmas World, and Beast's Castle was pretty well done)
If I was to give KH1 a 9 out of 10, I'd give KH2 an 8.5 out of 10

I suppose this isn't a game you can really finish, but I completed the main story quest in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion the other day.
Overall I love this game, it suck you right in. I'm starting another character as we speak.......
The game does look very pretty, but it does need a bit of a hog to run it well, there was more than one occasion when the game started chunking up on me (always in the middle of a fight). The way you can customise your character is amazing, every piece of clothing and jewelery you have equipped is shown on your avatar.
The combat system is very well done, possibly the best first person melee system I have seen, although the arrows could do with some more range. I ended up using a mod that amps up arrow damage, cause the basic damage in the game is pathetic.
Of course, the game does have it's downsides, the biggest being that it is possibly the buggiest game I have ever played. From regularly crashing to side quest characters turning into trees, it sometimes can be a bit frustrating.
There is also the very annoying fact that the PC version is essentially the Xbox360 version. With so many more keys and functions, there is so much more that could have been done with the PC version.
I can see this as a rather crappy trend, games being made at console standard and then ported straight over to PC.......smells of laziness to me.

I know that the bugginess is not based off laziness. As many reviewers have said, you need an extremely high end PC to run the game smoothly without bugs. Most PC users will encounter quite a bit of bugs in the game, since the game is so advanced that only the most current technology can run it clearly. Also, if there's a clear advantage for high end PC owners, it's that the pop up rate is much less aparrant than the 360 version.
I own the 360 version, and I still agree that it's an absolutely amazing game. It truly sucks you in. However, I can't see the company as lazy for making it a straight port. Both versions of the game were released at the same time, and who's to say that PC owners are more worthy of gaining more content than 360 owners? It also doesn't really seem like it was made specifically for the 360. There are a lot of functions on the PC, that give the game advantages over 360 owners, like better hotkey mapping, and better elimination of the pop up problem. The only advantage that I seem to have, that you described, is that the game isn't very buggy. However, if you do get a more advanced PC in the future (or maybe I'm wrong and you already have the most advanced kind), a lot more of the bugs will be eliminated.
Major Tom

Now a complete port, but minimal effort has been done to make the PC version. For example, I go to the controls menu, and a couple of the options are:
Right stick: Look
Left Stick: Move
Or something like that. The fact that you cannot map specific function to various keys, so instead of pressing I for inventory, M for map and the like, you have to go throught the whole process bringing up the stats screen and then go through it......considering a keyboard has 100 usable buttons and various alt, ctrl and shift functions as well, the version PC users have essentially uses the same controls base of an Xbox controller, which limits us to about 11 functions (minus the sticks directional movement). Meh, I don't own an Xbox360, so I'm not sure so I'm not entirely sure how many buttons it has. We get hotkeys and a console, but that's not much compared to other PC-RPGs
Perhaps I'm just being a PC-l33t arse, but functionality wise, there is so much more that can be done with a PC, and the current trend is to not utilise that ability.

Yes, a truly amazing game, though I didnt get to play all too much of it mainly because of the reasons already listed above. An extremely high-end PC/graphics card is needed to play it with little or no bugs/chopiness. Also, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is very in-depth, in that there are many, many stats to level up and many ways you can tweak your character's appearance.

Ditto. Except for the fact that I can't trade the game in (It actually belongs to my little brother). But, I have to admit that after so much hype the game was rather dissapointing. The ending...
looked like it was going to turn out cool, with Riku and Sora stuck in the darkness with all their friends escaping into the light. Of course, they had to disney up the ending and a door ended up opening for no apparent reason and they escaped to find all their friends. Lame.

Completing the game means that you see the words "The end", or "Fin" after the credits. Breaking a disk for any reason other than it's bad means that you haven't completed it. You just killed a game you wasted your money on.
On that note, I did a quickie Maximo Ghosts to Glory. It's still hard, the camera is still bad, and the enemies are tough yes, but I did it because of Ghosts and Ghouls. Plus theres a Ghosts and Ghouls comin out on the PSP. Whats the word? Oh an homage.

I didn't say finishing Red takes me a month. It's just a kind of schedule, I play and finish it once a month. It takes me a total of 17 hours or less to finish that game and "catch 'em all"... doing so keeps my mind from going numb coz of all the school work; console games take too long to finish, so I prefer my GameBoy stuff.
Wahey! I finished Mario Land! ^^ hahaha

After playing the game on and off for 3 months (and accumulating over 68 hours), I finally beat Tales of Legendia (both the main quest and all of the character quests. Also pretty much gained every item). I really recommend this game to about any RPG fan. Most sites gave it around a 7 out of 10, but I would give it an 8 out of 10. The only negative points with it to me, were that there were a ton of random battles (so you have to have paitence for it), but luckly the battle system is very fun and fast paced, once you learn how to use it very effectively. The only other negative was for Grune's character quest, quite a bit of the dialouge was cheesy, but it still had a good ending. I do encourage anyone who plays this, to do the character quests after you beat the main quest. It's almost like a second whole game, and it provides some great character development on everyone else's part other than Senel and Shirly (which you already got to know in the main quest).
The high points of the game was a fun battle system, some fun dungeons (never thought I'd say that), challenging fights in the second half of the game, and best of all, the characters and character interactions were great. Definately entertaining.

New ground rules for this thread.
1) Only post about the game you have last completed. As in beat. As in finished. As in you got past the final level, the final boss, final whatever. In cases where a game has multiple endings getting to one of the endings will count as a completed game. If you want to make another post about getting a different ending, by all means, go ahead.
2) Talk about the game you just finished. Tell us something about it. Was it fun? Was the story good? How long did it take?
Failure to follow these rules will result in your post(s) getting deleted. Repeated failure to follow these rules by multiple people will result in this thread getting locked.

I just finished Dragon Warrior Monsters for like... the 50th time. That is most definately the funnest and most addicting game ever made. Much better than pokemon, with it's wimpy 150 monsters. DWM has well over 300, which kicks major ass. And might be the reason I'm so into that damned game.

I beat the Godfather game a few weeks ago. A really fun and great game. Its a Grand Theft Auto Style, but actually its completely different. Oh hell yeah! Yes!! I got the best ending for Silent Hill 4 The Room. I beat it to without spillin any blood of Eileen.
Walter, an unsent spirit was controlling Eileen, the female lead and she was about to me minced meat cause she was goin to walk through some giant razor ball. The best way to kill Walter and his REAL body is to grab the umbilical cord in the super's house and use it against the Conjurer. Then I grabed 8 spears from the walls and stabbed the Conjurer with em. The Spade was the best weapon to fight against Walter and I saved Eileen and got one of the 4 endings. If you don't use the umbilical cord and not save Eileen, then your an ******* for not savin her and you get the worst ending. But I got the best ending and I feel great about it. Plus I'm over my fear of ghosts, but I'm still terrified of the undead.

Holy crap, 2 in a row. First Silent Hill 4 The Room, now Atelier Iris Eternal Mana.
Mull was your cookie cutter bad guy that wnts to change the world. So he tried to change the world that Klein is in by using Amalgam. Thanks to some item synthesis, I found out Blair's Special was in fact an Elixer that completly heals me in case Amalgam uses Elemental Extraction. Simply stated an instant death spell. Stickin with Norn since her Shrink attack was strong, Delsus who kills Amalgam's turn with Power Shot when he uses Reason's Reguiem which is like a mana-enduced Tornado spell which takes your life points down to a single digit, and Marietta who has a healing spell that can replace Klein since hes the only healer in your party. After a few turns and a Helios Globe, I was able to weaken him and use power item/Dragon's Gem.
I can't say anythin about the ending since it locked up on me. Hopefully I unlocked the extra dungeon when I beat the game.

I learned a huge lesson today. If you have a mentor who is a gamer and a composer and he tells you to try out a game he loves, then you do it. Well thats what I did with Beyond Good & Evil.
The whole game itself is more of a gem than a rare game.
The music is phenominal, the story is gripping and fighting never gets old.
The ending was great, but left a big what happens next.
Jade aka Shauni has some special gift of life and saves the kidnapped people from their clutches of the Domz, some life sucking aliens and they were using the authortative Alpha Sections to slander and put fear in the hearts of the population of Hillys. Since I was playing as Jade, I had to find out why the Domz are attacking Hillys and reveal the truth of the Alpha Section and the Domz, which are working together.
I automatically give this game a 10 for it's ambiant music and Zelda-like gameplay feel (Adventure).

I wouldn't really call beating Silent Hill 2 in 8 hours a quickie run, but it's still a gripping dramatic story. You won't lose your fightin abilities since thats all ya do, but you will lose yor sanity figuring out whos your friend and whos not.
I had a little shock when I saw Mary, but quickly turned eye to her appearance in battle. Since I played it on Easy mode, I got a different ending. I heard if you beat the game in all 4 difficulties, you get a special ending with a dog or somethin.
Edit: I realized somethin. The last time I played the Bait mission, the reason why I kept failing was because the last GTA3 disc I had was really glitchy. I tried leaving my car and then the Cartel would explode. It was a real drag. Now a couple of years later, not only have I finished the Bait mission, but I completed the game. So let that be a warning to those who found glitchy games. Make sure the disc is clean before you play. If it weren't for the weak soundtrack and collision detection, I would have gave GTA3 a high score. 8 is about as high as I go.
bwing55543
06-07-2006, 06:27 PM
God of War. I have a similar warning. Be sure to keep your disc clean or the game will lock up at sword clashes in the final fight with Ares.
Majora's Mask. Got the FD mask but didn't use it. No arrows or Bunny Hood vs Majora's Wrath either. Fun.
Are you kidding? The Fierce Diety's Mask made the final fight with Majora's Mask soooo easy. The mask itself plays kinda like adult Link from OoT equiped with the Biggoron's sword only that it shoots magic.

Tonight I beat Full Metal Alchemist - And the Broken Angel. For an old game, it was better than I expected. The gameplay wasnt revolutionary at all, and I guess the areas werent too creative. However, if you don't set your expectations too high and turn off your brain, it can be fun. I still enjoyed the story, the anime cut scenes, transmuting everything, it having a similar (but not as good) battle system as Kingdom Hearts and using a decent variety of weapons (at least the weapons werent useless. I could use just about every weapon for a different type of situation). Also, it was fun fighting Mustang and Armstrong at one point, even though they have way too much health. I guess I'll have to play it some other day and level up a lot for that optional opportunity to win.

HomeWorld 2 (PC)- decided that I might as well try to complete some games when I'm home from uni for the summer. So I started on homeworld 2, The difficulty of the game was inconsistent, in saying that you can have one mission which is obsenely hard (i think seirra issued a patch which reduced the difficulty of the game, which I haven't downloaded), followed by a mission which is quite easy. That's how the game ended. The penultimate mission was very hard, and took me several tries to get done. Once I did that, and got to the last mission, it was susprisingly a cakewalk (all you had to use was 2 battlecruisers and the sajuuk)

Well, I just finally beat Sonic Rush today (after owning the thing since Christmas. Couldnt get past Zome 7 for a long while. Still, a good game. The use of the dual screens works very well.
Anyways, the boss is a jet type bird right? All you gotta do is try and dodge him when he lands, then quickly jump back on his head. He also has a ramming move from the background, which you just have to move to the side, and jump on his head right away before he gets away. There's not much strategy to it, and a bit of it is based on luck. Try to only grab a few rings, and leave the rest for later in the air incase you lose your previous rings. You'll survive longer.
Another tip for when he jumps around on the ground (trying to stomp and bite you) about 4 times, is to press the down button while running away from him, so you tuck and roll. I would advise hitting him when he tries to hit you from the background, as he is in a more vunerable state when he just perches there.
Hehe, good luck with Zone 7 (especially Act 2). You may really need it.

Last night I completed the storyline in Freelancer. Well, I think I did, saved the universe and all, not much more you can do after that. Apart from making oodles of money from freight hauling.
Overall, this was a pretty good game. It had a nice selection of ships and things you could kit it out with, and a good number of planets to visit. The control system was weird, using the FPS style WSAD+mouse controls instead of the usual joystick control, but that wasn't too hard to get used to. I still think it would have been better with weapons and sights fixed forward and use the stick to aim the ship, rather than using the mouse to aim the weapon turrets, maneuver the ship and operate the MFD's, but that's just me.
The story itself was rather interesting, until the Nomads appeared, then it started to get a bit far fetched (and the missions a little annoying), but fortunately that came right at the end, and that didn't last too long.
There will be comparisons with Privateer and Privateer II and, if what I hear is true, the development team on this worked on both of those. There were some things from those games that I did miss, like a more conventional radar display. It did get difficult to gain your bearings at times without that, and the ability to buy system maps. I thought it was a bit of a waste of time to have to expore each and every civilised system just find out what's there, and to find out who's selling what at what prices. One thing that Privateer had over Freelance was the ability to completely customise your ship, from engines to sensor packages to the armour on it. Freelancer just allowed perifials to be modified.
But still, it was a fine game, one I think I'll keep playing with for a while.

I beat Call of Duty 2 on Hardened yesterday. Very frantic and immersive, just not as good as Brothers in Arms. I hope that 3 will be as good or better.
Clocktower for PSX >>; It's the second game, but I think it was just refered to as "Clocktower" when it was brought over to America...
Right off the bat, I'm going to say that I was biased a bit againt this game in the beginning. I mean, I LOVE the original Clocktower. Sure, you can beat the entire game in less than a half an hour (and still get the good ending) if you know what you're doing, but it was incredibly well made for it's time, and fits survival horror to a T. Shortly after I played that one, I heard there were others, and these ones were actually released State-Side! I tried to find them, especially the next one so I could play them in order, but alas, it was not meant to be. All I could find was "Clocktower 3," the PS2 game, so I bought that, and it really disappointed me. I mean, it wasn't a half bad game, and it was pretty fun, but it ****ed with the story line like you wouldn't believe, the gameplay was awkward, and the plot presented was laughable. At least it was a fun game, and difficult at times (I still haven't beaten the final boss). I didn't have much hope when it came to how the other games would be, but I kept searching, on and off.
I realised that these games were rather hard to find ._.; I forgot about it for a while, but eventually, I ended up getting roms for the 2 PS1 release games. Haven't played the second yet, but I did play the first.
I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised. It was 3D rendered, but outside of the 3D aspect, it was exactly like the first game, with the cursor directed movement, the hiding, the items.. It continued the storyline after the Super Famicon one, and did a decent job with it. The graphics were cheesy as all hell (as only early 3D games can be) and the voice acting was shite, but the game itself was awesome, and I'm glad I finally got a chance to play it.
I only got 2 of the 10 endings so far, but that just means I get to play more >>;

Last night I completed The Curse of Monkey Island. An awesome game, from the days when Lucasarts actually made good inhouse stuff (and also wasn't badged with Star Wars).
I played on the easy mode (going to do it on hard next), but I've been out of practice on the adventure puzzle for a while, so I had to refer to a walkthrough at a couple places. Important rules when playing puzzle adventures: Pick up everything. Use everything on everything. Get that mouse pointer into every nook and cranny of the screen in order to find everything that can be manipulated.
Apart from the first and last time I had to refer to the playguide, the parts I was stuck on were solved really easily, by picking up one item I had missed, or hadn't used this item with that. The first one, well I hadn't thought of that, and the last, I was sure I used that item with the pies, but it told me 'no can do', until after I looked at the guide and felt a right fool.
Anyways, this is full of cartoony pirate humour (actually, in a similar vein as Pirates of the Carribean, which was no doubt inspired by the Monkey Island series), and I felt the art style perfectly matched the story and characters. The writing is pretty good as well, getting more than a few guffaws out of me.
I recommend this game for all those who like puzzle adventures, and anybody who likes to think in general, it was a refreshing whiff of fresh air after all those rather brainless FPS's......
One does wonder what the hell Lucasarts was thinking when they said the puzzle-adventure is dead, just because it doesn't have Star Wars on it doesn't mean it can't be good.

Don't forget, the Monkey Island puzzles often have a logic to them. A most unique logic.... but still a logic.
As for me, I most recently finished The Wind Waker. Keeping true to my word that I'd finish it before The Twilight Princess comes out. XD

Well, I just beat Suikoden V not long ago. I finally got all 108 stars of destiny and loved the ending. But where does Suikoden V stand admist all of the Suikodens? What were it's high and low points to me?
First of all, here's a list of my favourites, #1 being the best, and the lower numbers being not as good as the one before it:
1. Suikoden 3 (Best gameplay, best characters, best world, a good base, and a great story)
2. Suikoden 2 (Some great main characters, a very thoughtful plot, well put together base)
3. Suikoden 5 (Slower gameplay, many great characters, best plot, boring graphics and loading screens
4. Suikoden 4 (Horrible world map, least impressive base, uninspired characters, Snowe annoyed the hell out of me, only cool element is Rune of Punishment)
Note that I havent played the first or Tactics yet either. Anyways, here's the highs and lows:
Highs: An amazing story. One of the best in the series. It's hard to pick between 2, 3 and 5, but I think 5 may have had the best plot going on. It also had some amazing characters (and useful ones) and plot twists later down the road. It definately began to pick up after 30 hours, once I got my base, which is the best base in the series. The war battles were also awesome and let me use a whole lot of strategy. I also actually liked the duels in this game (which I never have before). They had lots of style to them.
Lows: However, playing 20 - 30 hours to get to my base was the drag in this game. Before I got my base, I felt like I was a chicken running around with my head cut off. The area map outside of the towns had a horrible birds eye view perspective which made it very easy to get lost. I often felt like I would run to one side of the map for a while, only to hit a river or a dead end, in which I would have to prepare for my long trek back, with all the random encounters and loading times in place. Like I said, once you get to your castle, the tension is eliminated (thank god for Viki) since you can teleport from place to place when you need to. Also, some dungeons threw random encounters at me every 3 steps, which could make it an absolute pain. Finally, a game should not be judged on it's graphics, but good god. The graphics are very sharp, however the whole colour scheme of the world just reeks of grey. Note that grey is one of the most boring tones of colour, which induced many yawns and short play sessions from me. Just wading through all the loading screens, areas with unused space, constant random encounters and constant colours of grey at many times could be a great cure for insomnia.
As Jetfire said, the Suikoden series don't get much attention though it is great. Shame on you people for not giving this series a chance! (and you jetfire for not playing V yet :P)
Well, Elric. I did play it, and fully beat it. I'm not really ashamed that I didnt jump to it the first chance I got. It was good, but not groundbreaking for me. I guess we just have different views. I think Suikoden 5 is the third best and you think Suikoden 3 is the third best. And I'm glad I did play KH2 first, because the fast paced nature won me over. In my opinion KH2>Suikoden V, not through substance, but fun factor. Storywise though, Suikoden V absolutely > KH2.
All in all, I'll give Suikoden V somewhere between a 7.5 and 8.0/10.
