Whats the point of buying $50 game if you'll finish it in less then a week?, i always try to buy games that will take some time to finish them. I only buy the short game when they get cheaper.

if it's a really good game, you can't help playing it for hours and hours. For example Splinter Cell or Tales of Symphonia are not games that you can't just play for a hour and that's it. Those types of games pull you in.

Oh yeah, i just completed Splinter Cell:Choas Theory on Normal mode.

After, what? 9-10 years, losing my original copy and having to start over, I've finally put this puupy to rest with a little bit of the ultra-violence.

Last game I beat: Mega Man X, I beat it for fun about three hours ago. Found this neat little glitch while I was at it, lol. Anyhow, this is most certainly my favorite game on the Super Nintendo, and probably one of my favorite games, period, as well. Really fun.
Last game I beat for the first time: Jeez... I don't beat new games too often... I believe it was Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, but that was a good bit ago. I thought the game was pretty good, but the story, especially the ending, bored me to no end. I literally started reading a book while the ending was going on... yeah, I really wasn't too interested. Nice gameplay, though, and I suppose that's all that counts.

Always thought the Soviet missions were far harder than the Allied missions, if only for the Yuri level. And as for the endings, Premier of the World is nice... but the Allies have Tanya.

I was playing Final Doom: The Plutonia Experiment, but I got angry at it so I took a break and finished Half-Life 2 last night. Awesome game, ending left open for a sequel.

I'm going to take a little time to rant about Final Doom. Because it's got me all frustrated.

it seems that with Final Doom, they took all that was challenging and fun about Doom II and run it through an impossiblity ampilier and turn it into a game I like to call 'Rape the Marine.' Doom II was hard, but fun. Half Life was hard, but fun, Half-Life 2 was hard, but fun, Call of Duty.....well, there are a squillion more reasons why I don't like it but it was still challenging. You get the picture. Each of those hard their frustratingly hard moments, but for the most part, the challenging tax your mind and reflexes fun type hardness was more prevelant. Final Doom is not fun. It's just hard. Effing hard. Tear your hair out and break the keyboard hard. I have never hard a game draw so many expletives out of my mouth before. The only reason I am still playing it is shear bloody-mindedness. You know, that state of mind that says 'I'm not going to let a machine beat me!' I am going to finish all the previous Doom's before I launch full time into Doom 3.

There, I'm done. I had to get that off my chest.

VooDoo Vince.

Yes.

It's actually quite an enjoyable platformer, particularly because it's now cheap as dirt. Voice acting and script tend to suck, and it's painful to see such a great concept with such potential be so underdeveloped, but it's still a good way to spend 5-6 hours.

I just beat Star Ocean: Till the End of Time a few moments ago. Awesome game. It started off real slow, but kept building up steam as it went along. It got very addictive building up levels and improving my weapons with inventing. it got to the point, where I easily defeated the last boss within a minute. So much fun. Now I must pick another RPG from my shelf to start.

Metal Slug 3 is for the XBox. And 13 quarters!?!?!? The game on the console gives you no do-overs (and you can't pump quarters into your XBox). I can get almost all the way through it without continuing though (I always die at the final boss). I swear to god the game is impossible. They also have Metal Slug 4 and 5 out for PS2, but I haven't played that.

Not that difficult definitely a fun way to pass the time, just equip a big cannon and you can beat nearly every stage without even moving (unless you have to go do something during that stage). Completed Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes for Gamecube last wednesday. Excellent upgrade in graphics, for the most part, but the voice acting wasn't quite on-the-spot as the original and the changes in the presentation made the game feel bulky and cumbersome at certain points (I'm rather sure something was changed in the script, if not just the added scenes). Not to mention, too many action scenes were converted to a Matrix-esque, over-the-top style. At least the original MGS kept itself relatively grounded in reality.

Overall, a good addition to the title, but not the be-all, end-all must-play "remake" many claim it to be. I'd still recommend non-fans to the original before playing this title. In fact, I think I'll get around to buying myself a copy of the PSX MGS and replaying it sometime soon.

Meh. I use Cable as my leadoff guy and Iron Man as my closer. Cable's a nice mix of close-combat effectiveness and decent long-range skill. I usually never have to use Iron Man by himself as I usually just have him coming in for supers. My middle character is variable, usually a melee specialist like Iceman or Venom. I just unlocked Cammy and Felicia and am taking quite a liking to both of them as they've both got great melee combo moves.

I'm not too versed in the Capcom characters (except for the Street Fighter refugees), so I tend to stay on the Marvel side of things.

Actually, quite a few marvel characters really own in that game. Iron man owns. Especially his super. And his beam can hurt characters even when they're blocking, and it's really hard to dodge. Wolverine is great for close combat. Spiderman, Cyclops, Gambit, the Hulk and Cable are also very good if you know how to use them.

As for Capcom, I can't pass up playing as Ryu, Ken, Captain Commando and Megaman. Stirder is also a pretty good choice. My favourite combos in that game are probably Iron Man/Wolverine/Captain Commando or Iron Man/Ken/Megaman.

Anyways, sort of back on topic, I should be completing Psychonauts for the XBOX pretty soon. Awesome original game.

I finished Dawn of War: Winter Assault. It's a good game, but I was a little disappointed by it. Mainly in the single player campaign story department. For those familiar with the 40K universe, it is somewhat cliched and overdone. It also (for the time being) doesn't tie in with the original game, but I would say that it's popular enough to warrant a number 2, so I will hold final judgement on that part until then. The the way the campaign plays out is rather interesting, but in the end I felt having to switch between sides with different objectives continuously was too cumbersome.

The engine itself is awesome (with minor gribbles about a)Artillery range (or lack of it), b)infantry small arms vs buildings/tanks and c)units with infilatration abilities. But these are factors that have always bugged me in RTS's. I have only seen proper artillery range in Total Annihilation and Dark Reign. When will people learn that your standard infantry rifle is going to do JACK SQUAT against a building? That's what you need artillery for!) and multiplayer is an absolute blast. I'd give it an 8/10.

Last ngiht I completed Call of Duty 2. I was fortunate enough to have a friend who bought a copy and let me install it and also provided me with a file-we-do-not-talk-about so I could play it at home.

What a disappointingly short campaign. That was the thing that really bugged me, and the fact that the campaign is very disjointed, there's no real flow between one scenario and the next. And the constant yelling. Every soldier had to be yelling something.

It is, in essence, CoD with flashy graphics. It's obvious they were following the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' approach, with the added bonus of simplifying it (dumbing down) for consoles. Yay. There were some improvements over CoD, but those were equalled out by several steps back, so the average stayed the same.

All in all, I wasn't too disappointed by it, 'cause I knew what to expect. It gets a 'meh' from me.

I also completed the Rome: Total War prologue campaign. Now I have the hang of it, time to move to the real thing. This is the awesomest strategy game ever. Word of warning, though. It is for more hardcore strategy and tactics fans, this is nothing like RTS's of a dubious nature like Age of Empires III.

I beat Shadow of the Colossus on hard too!

Hmmm... that and I just beat grand prix 50cc on Mario Kart. 100cc is going to be hard.

That and this weekend I plan on defeating Shaolin Monks because that game owns.

Matrix: Path of Neo (x-box)

I suggest it be atleast a rental if you don't feel like worth buying it, I bought it, loved it, laughed at the ending for its 100% true to what the topic about the games ending is.

Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy
Finished it a few hours ago. The game wasnt really that long but most of the missions where fun to figure out, except the last one since there was little strategy involved, and even thought that all the boss characters had a unique look and psychic abbility, they lost variety because you had to use the same tactic to beat most of the bosses. So the worst part is the ending itself, it just ended in a "To be continued...", the sequel better be worth it.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks 7/10

Fairly good game, pretty fun kombat, especially in Ko-Op.

The last bosses were too hard though. -_- Me and my friend were so pissed, we died like 12 times.

I beat the Internet. The last guy is hard. XD

No, really. The last game I completed was Final Fantasy X for my friend. She was having some trouble with the endgame, so I leveled her characters up a bit and basically destroyed everyone from Seymour to the end with 99999 normal attacks. It was pointless using summons at that point, but I did it anyway, just to mix up the fun. XD

Disgaea :XD:

hey, I was underleveled for quite awhile
but I did some training and kicked the Seraph's sorry ass
of course...that was my second cycle...I lost to midboss my first play through(I never got rid of the enemy boost geo-panels >.>)

So I started my 3rd cycle
gonna aim for a few other endings...like the Flonne, the Etna and the GOOD ending(aiming for that now(I got the normal ending >.>)

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex for PS2. I quit playing the game for 5 months due to me forgetting about it intill a couple of weeks ago when I had nothing to do. The game is follow's the S.A.C. theme just like the series but a couple of hours longer with Motoko and Batou and the gang provides fun for any Ghost in the Shell fan or freak. Only problem is movement's felt stif like a cheap action figure... But I did unlock costume's, and no limit on weapons, and an extra mode.

Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2 (Finally)

It just plain owns, defanitely it has been the best game or the game that gave me the most impact this year. Also a very underated game as well. This and the 1st are both excelent RPG's and I highly reconmend it. Heck maybe ill even pay you to just play it.

Resident Evil 4

The ending was just like any other crappy action movie ending... Pretty short too, but the game itself was A LOT of fun. The graphics is pretty insane for a PS2 port. Now i need to play through all the new mini-games I've unlocked. Go me!

Pheonix Wright Ace Attourney for the Nintendo DS. This is definteily one of my favortie titles for the DS next to MarioKart. The gameplay isn't muc, but the story and characters are so engrossing and fun it's hard to put the game down.

Prince of Persia The Two Thrones

I recommend this to any fan of Sands of Time but for those who like Warrior Within with the heavy metal music playing, then unforuntily this game doesn't have that but its still great either way you play it.

The most recent game I beat was Batman Begins for xbox. It was a pretty good game, graphics were great, and I loved the movie so that made the game much more enjoyable. Generally for me the games made from movies aren't that good because you have to follow the specific storyline and just beat the levels like they are in the movie, but this game wasn't like that for me.

Completed Quake 4 on the weekend. I was surprised that it actually ran decently on my system (which sits a rung below the min. specs.)

Overall a very good game. It did feel a little scripted at times, there were a couple situations where I was running around in circles trying to find where I was supposed to go next. I also fell that by the end the game had lost that 'part of a war' feeling and went back to the more familiar 'single handedly saved the world' setting, so it was a little disappointing in that respect. But it looks very pretty, plays well and has a good fun-to-frustration ratio. I'll be looking forward to mods for this, especially Chaos Quake, if the boys at that studio deign to make a Chaos mod for Q4. When I have some money, this would be well worth buying (;))

Legend of Mana for PSX

man i'm just going through these games lol. Legend of Mana is like most of the Mana legacy but this one lets you create your own world. As you progress through the game you gain these items that you place down on your world and they turn into full landscapes in which you continue your quest through. Its mainly about rebuilding the world and granting power back to the mana tree....very fun game and hard to find at same time.

After just finishing my semester in college, I made it one of my first priorities to beat Shadow of the Collosus tonight. What an absolutely fantasic game. Just about perfect in every sense. My favourite collosuses, would be #2, #3, #5, #8, #13, #14, #15 and #16. That's quite a lot of them, and the rest were good too. I guess my absolute favourites were #13 and #16.

I mainly loved #16 because

After Agro was "supposedly killed" (I thought he was), I was pissed. I climbed as quickly as I could to the top and saw the ginormous boss. I then put a song by Andrew wk, called "Get Ready to Die" in a loop. It absolutely fit the mood I was in as I dashed wildly toward him, making my way up and stabbing him everywhere. I actually jumped from the first arm your on (actually the bicep) to this little ledge on his chest. I read on Gamefaqs later that you were supposed to jump on the other hand and then shoot him with an arrow in the chest to get near, but I just took a leap of faith. Then I proceeded to hang onto his head for dear life while stabbin the hell out of it. The b***tard killed my horse. How could I not?

Anyways, great game. I can't wait for the company's next project, and I'm encouraged to pick up Ico now.
