Hehehe, had you there for a sec didnt I? So ya, if your ****ed up. Drunk, trippin etc. whatever what anime is appropriate for you then? I gotta say, Azumanga Daioh is great to drunkenly laugh at, and its great to drunkenly stare at Cowboy Bebop.


P.S. ALso, in case the thought ever crossed your mind, NEVER watch NGE(particularly EoE) drunk or high. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, NIGHTMARES. Bad Nightmares.

I didn't find Eva scary at all. The last few episodes of Berserk were creepier, but not really scary. Acid or pot is more likely to induce paranoia than alcohol. Alcohol is relaxing for me.

I've watched most of my anime while drinking..
To be perfectly honest however, while on a boozeathon with my buddies, we largely watched hentai. I mean, for obvious reasons.

I personally prefer watching anime with senseless action and lots of b00bies when I'm on serious boozing. Which means I really, really, really liked watching Vandread and making jokes about the 'merging'.
Oh yeah. Excel Saga and now 2x2 Shinobuden. Great drunk anime.

I think FLCL is one of the worst anime's to watch when drunk. I tried it once and it was like staring at a random picture slide show.

Personally when I watch anime while drunk, I prefer plotless but entertaining anime's, so Azumanga Daioh will get my vote here.

Hajime no Ippo, it is a great series without the alcohol but under the influence IMO makes the fight scenes and emotional moments more engaging.

Rum n' Coke goes a long way too (my sister teases me that I hold hands with Captain Morgan and we run across the beach together on a daily basis...and I don't even have a drinking problem!).

Can't watch much anime drunk, I can understand it, but it's best percieved when sober. Of course, the grand exceptions will always be madcap artfests or zany comedies, those work like a charm. Pretty much what I stated before, Mamoru Oshii films, and stuff like Cat Soup. And slap in some Satoshi Kon films while you're at it!

If there ever was one anime that the production team felt should be viewed only when properly drunk, it's Dead Leaves.

I can understand their point though. It's quite hectic and well, there is a plot. I just don't know how much of it you're supposed to get or care for that matter. The Dead Leaves DVD comes with some juicy extras, which leave no room for speculation as to what you're supposed to be doing while viewing the film. There's the home version of "Truth or doubt". In other words, the production team sitting at some bar getting buzzed on some really strong liquor (which looks and apparantly tastes like cleaning detergent). Then there's the launch party where the director urges the audience to get really pissed before they start rolling the film. Finally there's the press panel at the Tokyo Film Festival, where the conversation somehow derails into lengthy discussions on Dick drill (a character from the movie) and the interesting concept of twirl poo (when and how to make one specifically).

If that's not your Saturday night drinking party DVD right there, I don't know what is.
