If you could invent an anime and have it created by professionals what would it be called (optional) and what would it be about? What would the main cahracters be like? I have to think about my own answer for a min :)

I accually have an idea for an anime that would make a very good few-episode episode OAV. I have no idea what I would call it, but it's about a basically normal middle/high school building(the two buildings are joined). It's normal except it harbors a secret...there is a girl who always wanders the hallways of the school, and has been since the school opened in the sixteenhundreds, never aging a day. She is never seen between classes, just when they're in progress. She's a common sight, and people have gotten used to her...except one day, she is found RUNNING through the hallways. The next day, she is found in a pool of blood. And then she stoped appearing altogether. How can someone dead already die? And why is the government trying to keep the whole ordeal a secret?

haha thank you someone finnally thought of an idea. Heres mine, in the future there is a massive war that the majority of the world is involved in, our main charachter is located at a millitary base near the enemy territorry, along with his best friend since childhood. All of a sudden one night the base is attacked, because they were caught of guard, the resistence did not hold for very long, and eventually turned into a retreat. Our character is also retreating while practically carying his friend who was badly injured during the fight. Just before they reached the evacuation shuttle he somehow accidentally kills his friend with his own weapon. He is furious at his own stupidity while devistated at the same time. He eventually escapes and the rest of the anime would be about how he endured the war (or if he does at all) with the horrible memory of killing his best friend, along with the fear of explaining this to his friends family along with his. Will he survive in this horrible time of war?

mi series would be based on the manga me and mi brother are trying to make. it would be called gearcraft. it would be about a war. the earth would fight with the moon/mars military to gain control of the space colonies. and they pilot mechas called gears. the main charector would be based on me cause well im just great. and the other charectors would be based on whoever i want mwahahahahahaha.

Ah, but we have yet to include the obligitary mecha appearence. Shortly after defeating the puchuus, Jesus is suddenly set upon by 5000 MP Eva unit. Not one to shy away from a fight, Jesus boards Unit 02, and, after a battle that last for 6 weeks, finally defeats the evil Evas. Celebration occurs, with some hand to hand combat with Ed's dad, consumption of copious amount of LCL. And then (almost) everyone dies. Or do they?

If I made my own anime, it would be about a family who always fights, drinks, makes jokes about each other, and theres always chaos in the house. It would kind of be like Maison Ikokku! Very hilarious, very funny, very popular, and very 16 and up! ;)

If i did an anime it would be a War anime that would cover the whole spectrum of what war is like. There would be the grunts who have friendships and relationships but die and experience the horror of war first hand. There would be the leadership who have some friends but are driven away from most people by their position of power. Their would also be the special forces who would be shown as lonely and brutal killers who dont die very much but have a lot of blood on their hands that they have to deal with. Also, neither side would be portrayed as evil, they would just be opposing sides who have have different reasons to fight. It would focus mostly on one side though.It would be semi futuristic. Like in about 2060, so the weapons woulda be kinda new but everything would be pretty much grounded in reality. Theres a lot more to it but I dont want to bore you. Theres a manga for it that I've started writing and that I might put on the web.

That wouldn't work for Japan. The story would have to be elsewhere. Schools in Japan in the 17th century were entirely different from the schools there today.

Honestly, this best friend thing is annoying. I've seen it in too many mangas and anime. Let's make it his grandfather! Or even better, his brother! :)

Your story has an interesting premise, it could actually go somewhere. But the plot resolution is bound to be terrible or even non-existent. The plot itself is basically bare-bones because most of the time he'll be "trying to survive the war". It needs a lot more substance to be worthwhile. Trying adding some kind of twist, I don't want to give you any ideas because then it wouldn't really be yours anymore. Good luck.

The entire idea of the guy who tries to survive the war sounds amazing to me, realy, it makes a good base to formulate and develope action, drama, philosofy and psycologie.

As for me, I just red a book wich is just great, "The foctorie of the Absolut" by karel capeck an chezk. Will be realy surprise any of you have heard about it.

I don't have any original ideas, but there are a few stories from my own life that sort of fit into some anime genres. Perhaps I shouldn't post this... it's a bit personal, but here goes.

First...
When I was four and five years old, I took swimming lessons at the local YWCA. There was a little girl in my class, same age as me, and we became good friends. My mom still has a picture of me with my arms around her in the pool. We never made any promises to get into Tokyo University together, but a story along the lines of Love Hina or Ai Yori Aoshi could be built around this scenario. Whenever I meet a girl with her name (I don't know her last name), I always wonder if it is her... So the story could involve the protagonist meeting someone with this name and not having the courage to ask, but rather trying to find out through hints and surreptitious searching.

Second...
When I was a senior in High School, I was in love with this girl in my class. We were really close friends and spend a lot of time together, flirted a lot, and dated other people, but because we didn't want to ruin the friendship, we never got together ourselves... Until her plans to go away to college fell through and we ended up going to the same school. Then we go together, and everything was fantastic. That's where the anime story ends. After we broke up, she cut loose, became alcoholic and and now has three children with three different fathers. That would definitely not go in the anime. It would make for a sort of Gainax ending, though, wouldn't it?

I think that these two experiences are why I enjoy Anime like LH or AYA. They take me back a bit.

A guy who loses is artistic abilities, he the goes to a crazy scientist who gives him a brain transplant. The scientist replaces the right hemisphere of the guys brain with an undiscovered artistic genius from some poor country. The guy then gets his artistic abilities back, but he also gets the traits of the artistic genius. He also learns his organ donor was a serial killer, pedophile, and drug addict, the guy randomly finds himself doing these things.

Communists devise a scheme to take over a generic industrial compound for ransom under the watchful eye of corrupt US diplomats. The plot twists when the Communists threaten to unravel the keystone of civilization with wild orgies, unless a rookie CIA agent eager to prove his worth can overcome his brooding self-doubt and stop the Communists once and for all. The movie ends with a mildly comical and/or ironic scene in which the Communists blow up or go to prison. Another satisfying tale of political intrigue and personal redemption closes, and we all walk away from this movie a little wiser.

Oh wait, youy asked for anime, not a Tom Clancy novel. Shoot, it still would be cool.

That is very cool. Good premise, possibility of an amazing plot, and possibility of some character introspection or development. If it ever becomes a reality, it'll be interesting to watch.

Good idea, but see it doesn't matter if you have somebody elses brain if you don't have their memory, and your memory is in't in your brain per se, but in the fluid in youre hypothalamus. Just thought id save you some grief later on.

Thanks, I think. But I bet a lot of folks have a story in their lives that is similar to some anime plot (hopefully not Evangelion :) ). I'd be interested in a thread on this topic, but I don't think many would be willing to be so, uh, indiscriminate as I was here.

My ideal Anime would probably be an anime version of the novel 'All Quiet on the Western Front'. It would be a series, probobly about 13-18 episodes long. Anime as a medium actually lends itself to war stories, mostly because you can show the real cost of war on the minds and bodies of those who fight it.

Summary: Lonely 24-year-old Akimashi Nao lives by himself by a seashore named Hana Bay. He's single and has been single all his life and he really wants to get married and have children. He wishes for this one night when he saw a shooting star go across the sky, and magically his wish was granted the very next morning! He wakes up to the smell of cooking and enters the kitchen to see a beautiful blue-haired woman with eyes as blue as the ocean. She smiles and simply says, "Good morning" and this is where all the craziness begins.

Sidenote: I wouldn't wanna make this a cliche'd anime where the girl's extremely attached to the man and whatnot and eats alot and manages to never gain weight (well, duh, its animation, but still...), is an air-headed ditz, and get jealous really easily. I don't want none of that. She may very well become his wife, but she is a tease and loves to do mysterious things sometimes, although it'd all be for a reason. :)

There's a manga I plan to start working on called Curse of the Gods that, if ever it is finished, might BECOME an anime. Bwahaha.

[ West Losay is an exile from the western army, but he has a problem. West is unable to die, due to an irrevocable curse that forces him to live the length of the lifetime of the people he has killed. Enter Ai, an intelligent young sorceress that, much to West's dismay, joined him on a little trip to a town further down the road.. a town inhabited by vicious ghosts!

Further inspection of the town reveals two things to the pair: A book of counterspells and a magic pendant. While the pendant at the time is useless, West takes a particular interest in the book, which reveals a way to remove his curse! From here, Ai's mere interest in adventure turns into pity and a need to help out, and she and West find themselves being confronted by soul-stealing witches, werewolves and even stone-eyed basalisks! ]

Despite the two main characters being male and female, this series will NOT be a romance series. It's more action and adventure, mixed in with comedy. It's a bit monster of the week-ish, but in three episode intervals. The first episode is the discovery of a problem, the second episode contains the fights that ensue, and the third episode is the conclusion, but not every fight is with a monster, and since every opponent is different, West and Ai need different methods of beating each one, and even then one of them might be too incopacitated for the fight.

There is a lot to work with, everything from earth-shakeing battles(the Battle of Moytura), crazy quests (trying to steal magic pigs), ubersexy bishonen, crazy evil maho shoujo, and Balor, a god of death who had one giant eye that, when opened, could kill a hundred men

I could defiently see a title like 'The wars of the Sacred Isle' or the 'Legends of Past Ages', with designs similar to a Beserk or a Record of Lodoss War
