HA! This is really clever Linuts. You are turning the whole protagonist vs. antagonist thing on its head. Manga has it all as a villian! An awesome costume, henchmen with special attacks, motive for conflict, an arch rival who's her exact opposite, BUT! being the antagonist she's meant to be stronger yet Annie-May is so effortlessly pwns all her attacks and attempts at expresing her back story, HELL! she's barely even regonized her as a threat. Awesome. Freaking awesome. :thumbup:

in closer inspection, one can imagine the rest of the bare lower hips+legs from the subtle outline of crotch and right part of the thigh. also the picture of the cleavaged chest between open white shirt one can imagine can be quite interesting. not to mention the lovely concaved arc formed by the belly from chest to hip, i'd personally have the hip part form a contrasting curve in different concavity but oh well. i must say, that picture is h0t.

I use one of those Sakura brand fine liners for outlining and filling in the black. Also use pencil for filling and initial sketching. All the borders and speech bubbles are done with Photoshop.

Or perhaps this image is in fact, illustrating the creator's state of emotion whether intentional or not. Or maybe it's just a silly little annie may that is not laugh-inducing but merely cute.

Well according to this thread her eyes are green...

I personally like the way the fluff around the him and the hat turned out but the sking is very messy to say the least. It only took me about 20 minutes tops so that's to be expected.

This may or may not be the place but for the record: I use pastels a fair lot when I draw. I haven't seen any art of yours so I can't accuratly say if the technique I use would fit you but if you'd like to try just color something I suggest a light tint first. Color the picture with the light tint of pastel and with vegetable oil slowly smooth out the color in a circular motion. Add a darker tint and repeat and it comes out in a very nice coloring effect.

I suggest using browns, reds, and yellows for a bright tint and blues, purples, and blacks for midnight shades.

To keep on topic: I have alot of time over my break so I'll post some more pastel pictures either late tonight or sometime tommorow. If you need any more tips please ask :)

Well according to this thread her eyes are green...

I personally like the way the fluff around the him and the hat turned out but the sking is very messy to say the least. It only took me about 20 minutes tops so that's to be expected.

Yes i know that her eyes are green I just wanted you to make a copy of it if possible with her eyes being blue to see if that would make the image stand out more, the picture is well done for a 20 min job so good job

I'm a tad confused. I haven't read all of the comics on this thread yet so could I get a quick summary? Only if you don't mind of course.

Due to my jubilation at the fact that my scanner was not broken from me dropping it, I accidently overlooked this post.

Honestly, I doubt I will start coloring simply because I found my niche in inking pencil recently. I think I will eventually experiment using your advice, but not immediately. Anyways, thank you for your input! I'm looking foward to your next work!

Simply put, the guy using the snow launcher is ex-doctor Soundchazer. He is a mad scientists who turned most of the males at AA into girls in the "Gender Bender" arc.

As for the guy at the right holding the cat and drinking the candy cane colored alcohol, he is Two-Twenty. He is and will forever remembered for his ping pr0n contribution (made by the venerated Linuts).

The little guy in black with the halo next to Two-Twenty is me. Simply put, I died in the story... Don't ask.

The male and female behind Two-Twenty and I are Alex San Lyra and Sandra. They were regulars to this thread until recently.

The three having the snowball fight is AnimeOtakuJunko (aka AOJ) (She is getting hit by the snowball), Risen Hell Fire (he is hiding behind the wall of snow), and Saiya Biki (he is throwing the snow). The later two were turned into girls during the Gender Bender chaos. AOJ will be forever remembered as the ignorant "whats @#&*-girl" girl (once again by Linuts). Sadly, she is currently banned.

The final four in the Santa outfits are the three members of the official Annie May comic: Linuts (the one with a screw on his head), Z'eed (He has the flashing eyes and a "Z" on his hand), and Niner (He is smoking). The one on the right with the white hair is Compl3x.

The one in the center is Annie May.

Whew.

PS- Don't be upset if you have no clue what is going on. Coherency was never part of this thread.

Don't worry you did a great job explaining without being confusing in the least. I may try and make a comic-like contribution sometime. Hopefully before break ends.

After Two-Twenty's drunk tyrade, he proceeded to see if cats really laned on their feet by throwing Shadowmage off a high rise building. SM did indeed land on his feet, but due to the height of the fall, he met his demise in a splattering mess. Shadowmage was brought back to life in a more darker form... He is out for revenge. And Annie May has her ban gun to hunt down this vendetta filled renegade!

Good job Shadowmage! I'm not familiar with "RM" or whatever it was that you mentioned but I still enjoyed it. I wrote out a plot to a comic (It will probably end up being 2 or 3 parts long...) last night so hopefully I can get some original material up here soon.

Well my image editor died on me so I could'nt fix the fold marks from the water colors... the text also looks like crap but it's readable.

Actually, I'm using my own, original design. Believe or not, it is a royal pain to immitate the Rozen Maiden style, so I just created my own character.

I wanted it to have abit of a dull atmosphere to it to fit with the message but I agree the coloring is a bit boring. That and until I find another image editor it's gonna be a bit raw... sorry friends :(.

After reading all 2248 post I can see why this thread was very memorable for people at AA. So many wonderful contributions here, Linuts' work reminds me of Excel Saga, ASL, of Betty Boop, and SM, Z, 2-20 something out of South Park meets ATHF, and the highly anticipated 2 pages of Junko reminded me of some old school Shoujo. Linuts I hope you try to pursue something towards being a manga ka you have amazing talent. Who ever said that the Art forum was the salad bar of the school was mistaken, this thread makes it the nachos and cheese line!
