Poor PD....
Well, back to the garbage dump you go :D.
PD needs a partner, someone thats also not recognize by all, someone that also wants to take over AA for no good reason, or at least someone thats there so PD doesnt wont just talk to himself.

But i like monologs T_T
well I got two plans for improvement.
1: a consistant art style xD
2: better fonts <_<
My fonts always look awkward...
maybe i should go crazy with the black-grey fill xD
LINUTS CLONE FTW!!!
EDIT; well, so he does't use a fill, he jsut scribbles everywere. meh :P

Well, I finally read through this gigantic ass thread and I've become inspired to try my hand at AA comics. I'll try to have it up by Monday :)
EDIT: I lied

Annie may be a little inconsistant with the rest of the comics in this thread but I'm sure the more I write the more I'll get used to her character.
Enjoy ;). I'll have the rest up later.

Sorry about that last part... everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong while I was editing page 5. Please, just ignore it.
Nice intro, your way of story telling reminds me a little of Cromartie high school manga, you need to work on making animals because that is the weirdest looking cat i have ever seen(yet, it was oddly cute :D ). Btw, who where all those other characters that appeared alongside Annie? are they suppose to be people from AA?
Jeannie
06-17-2006, 06:04 PM
Ah, the lady with the long black hair standing to Annie's right is Professor Liegenschonheit. She's based off of an anime add I saw in an old magazine. I don't know the title or anything because it was all written in Japanese but it reminded me of her picture on the reviews.
The dude with Annie telling her to save the cat is Dennis. And the girl to the far right of the first panel with the tree in it is sohryu. Dennis is based off of Tuxedo Kamen and sohryu off of... well Sohryu Asuka.

The story is good but the art could use some work. Try to minimize or remove some of the guidelines in photoshop before posting.

Heh, it's good! Some minor suggestions:
Drop the resolution; 825 pixels wide is a bit large. The last one you posted (660 px wide) is about right.
Use left-to-right! Reading right-to-left is a bit odd when it's in English and shown on a screen. That order only really works in printed volumes, I think.
The art is actually quite decent. The characters et al. look fine. The style is more on the sketchy side, but it works.

You have no idea how much I appreciate suggestions.
Anyway, I'll definatly work on the sizing. I just got a computer last weekend so I'm not very tech savy. A friend of mine has been helping me with simple things like scanning and image hosting. I've also been editing in MS Paint so it looks kinda trashy sometimes (Like that last page... lord that's embarassing).
I accidently had written the first page backwwards (I think I had been reading a manga when I got the idea to draw an Annie Comic) so I figured I'd have to be consistant. Trust me, I won't let that happen again.
I use to different style when I draw comics. One is a chibi-fied version that uses more straight lines and I usually would use it for comedies. The ones I used for that comic I don't use alot so it's very sketchy. I'll be sharpening my skills with any further installments.
Thank You so much for your comments Tyrdium :D

No problem!
Just got a computer last weekend? Impressive. Anyway. You should take a look at Gimpshop (http://www.gimpshop.net/). It's essentially a free version of Photoshop (based on GIMP, an a free competitor to Photoshop). It's quite a bit more complicated than MS Paint, but I'm sure your friend can teach you the basics fairly quickly.
For future reference, you can use "flip horizontal" to make a mirror image of the page - this'll correct for drawing it backwards.

Mainly posting to enrol myself on this thread, I'm going through the archives at the moment. Something I've been meaning to do for a while......but kinda got lost after the demise of the old RPG thread.
Anyways, I'm liking what I'm seeing so far, I might be motivated enough to do some sketches of our old characters from the RPG thread........don't bet on anything though, I can be incredibly lazy.

But I don't spend enough time getting to know people, therefor if i do have other AA students in my comics, they would be altered as I see fit =P

Finally! After 152 pages and 2272 posts I get to post! Unfortuneately, I'm not a really good drawer. But I LOVE all the fanart of our beloved Mascot Annie May. (Most recent arc by Linuts the Manga arc I loved when you were yelling "Yuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrriiiiiiiii!")
And I'm lookin forward to seeing more of UZ's comics. Also more of Shadow Mage's comics aswell.
On second thought............... MORE OF EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:thewave:
Also, I've been reading this thread from post #1 and I'm sad for TIF, AOJ, and Phled. But I hardly saw any of AOJ's posts (only about 3, I think).

God... It's been quite a while since I last posted here at AA. I miss you guys =)
Recently I started posting at a Harry Potter forum and I thought to myself... man... I should go back to the Academy... so here I am!
I was surprised to see that a comic was indeed created. Very nice job, by the way!
Darlene, I liked the Santa picture and loved the clues on how to use pastels... I have always wanted to use them, but didn't know how. Thanks for the tips!

Ooh yeah, there it goes.
For a doodle, it's pretty good. In fact, very good. You really paid attention to Annie May's eyes and that makes it as what I love the most about your drawing. The outlining and hair texture are all good, and <<<3 her sexy pose!
Perhaps the only setback here is her proportion of her head - it's a lil' big for shoulders as delicate as hers.
Here's my advice: Go for colors. Let's see how you fare in the coloring and bringing more life into that drawing of yours.

I agree with rhf and ac. It is good for a doodle. This thread is alive again, for now. If only we had Linuts and the rest of them here. Do more please Lamace. Pretty please with sugar and anime on top? Or how about sugar coated anime, would you like that? cuz I would... Anyway do more and post them here often so this thread can be alive and not just spammed up.

lol I will probably do more when I have the time, but I will probably color this one first. But thanks for the feed back, oh and the reason her head looks a little big was because I was drawing it at an angle, it looked fine when drawing it but when I looked at it I noticed that it was slightly off. This is a problem that I often face when doodling and I will work on it.

That was an awesome colouring. Just simply awesome. A little sloppy but still awesome. Actually, I don't think it was sloppy, just a little heavy.
Great job. I would draw something but I'm not good at it. I just do doodles of things. But you have real potential of becomming this threads new official drwer of Annie May.

Hey look at that I had some free time on my hands and I decided to do this little pic of Annie. Now this is a purly spontanius picture so I had no idea how it would turn out, and I didnt use pencil in any part of it so I couldnt correct any mistakes I made.
So basicly I started from the hand and went from there, now dont ask why she has a sword because like I said it was spontanious. Hope you enjoy it.

I like it. In the words of Shadi from Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series, "Is nice!" She kinda reminds me of that guy in the comic. The guy with the sword and he always cuts himself when pulling his sword out. Except that she doesn't have any cuts on her. So that would make her a better swordsperson than him. LOL! Great job, dude, just pure greatness. Pure greatness, and awesomness. Definately great.

This drawing makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside in an odd way. I have an itch to color it but only by the artist permission, but then again its good the way it is :) the eye and lips create a focal point that moves the picture and make for a good composition

The coloring needs alot of improvement. It's too grainy if you wish to know... and one more thing: The hair color's wrong, I think. I remember that it is supposed to be cyan, isn't it?
gimp actually. i just got it like a week a go and im still getting used to it >.< . so i got "sucking" written all over it. i had a problem with the hair and the finer details so i just left it as is
