View Full Version : First Kiss?

Just out of curiousity, how old was everyone when they got their first kiss?
I'm 17 years old and a high school junior, and I have never had the pleasure of having someone else's tongue in my mouth. (That's my term for it because I'm lonely and bitter. My mother and sister do not seem to appreciate my astute powers of observation.) My twin sister is with her second boyfriend and her first kiss was at 15.

I wouldnt worry about it too much. In my entire highschool career I had one boyfriend, and it didn't turn out very well, as he basically ran away from home and drove across the country to be with me. May sound romantic, but it turned my life into a living hell. I had my first kiss at sixteen, unless you count the ones I gave in kindergarten, but my first "serious" relationship at 19. I was very shy and more interested in books than boys, and was never really one for meaningless romances.
My guess is that you probably haven't met anyone worth getting involved with yet. From your posts I know you are a very astute girl, and most highschool boys tend to be a bit immature. (Sorry boys, it's true.) It may sound lame and trite, but you really will meet some one worth your time. Besides, there are always smarter, cuter boys in college. ^_~

I was 4 years old when I kissed my first girl. She was crying because she got teased by bullies in preschool. I got sent home for that. :D
My next kiss didn't come until I was 20 years old. :p

It was middle school sometime. Don't remember who it was though so I couldn't have had that much fun doing it.

You're better off waiting and being choosy about who you share that moment with, first anythings never come around again.

When I was 9, around the same time I first moved to New York. I lived next to a lot of girls, and let's just say I made friends quick, especially with my next door neigbor. It both made my life then a living hell and my life now a pleasure (get your minds out of the gutter, we only kissed. I was way too shy to do try anything back then (infact still am -_-U)).

I got mine when I was in kindergarden. It left quite an impression on me... literally... After she kissed me she bit my arm pretty bad, and that scar is still there (That's around 15 years ago too ....T-T) And I'm not kidding T-T...
Wonder whatever happened to her... o_O

17. But I don't know if it would really count. My best female friend (at the time) and I were in a play together and our characters had to kiss, and we were "practicing.":p

I was 13. Saw a cute guy, grabbed him by the hair, kissed him, slapped his ass, said thanks and walked off. He stalked me for the rest of junior high.
It was sooo cute, and I was soooo aggressive...wait, I still am.

Yeah, I had one of those cutesy-w00tsy first kisses in Grade 3 (8 years old I think). She planted one on me then I ran away and did't talk to her ever again.
My next decent one was when I was 16 with my girlfriend (That relationship lasted about 2 weeks, but hey! Longest one yet). Since then it's a semi-regular occurance at parties.

I'm 20, and I got sent to a boys' school by my parents, so I don't think it's surprising that I haven't had a girlfriend. Right now I've been in University for 2 years, and unfortunately the female population there is just as sparse. :(
I guess that's what I get for wanting to do Computer Science.

I hear your pain. I was in an all boys school until I was 17.
I seriously hope you go to you University's outings or have a cousin or sister who can introduce you to a girl.
Otherwise, I heard the church is still receiving applications for priesthood.

See, I don't live anywhere near my university. It's a 45 minute drive each way whenever I have to go, so I only go there for classes and that's about it. There are hardly any "outings" at all anyway, and they're just barbeques.
I've still got a circle of friends from school that I go places and do stuff with, but not really any "girl-hunting" activities.

Hey! I hate that sort of remark, it's what makes it hard for we women to do our jobs in the industry. When I did desktop support at Hewlett Packard, I used to get men who would come up to me and say "Hey little girl, are you sure you're supposed to be in the IT department?" Grrr.
And yes, I was a computer science major before I switched over to something where my professors wouldn't blatantly ignore me or treat me as less important than the males in the classes.
Anyway, I'm sure you probably didn't mean anything offensive by that remark, and I just chose you to vent on. There are girls and women in the CS world, they are just few and far between. And when one of us does come along, the men tend to treat us as one of the guys, no matter how feminine we are outside of work.

Now THAT is the truth. My friend's sister is a research scientist. She's pretty enough, but at her work she's basically considered a goddess. Same thing happens to girls at military academies. For all you girls who want the guys to line up, just got to Westpoint.
My first Tounge Action was last April 17. I just asked my girl friend and she remembered the exact date. I think it was around 8:30 pm, behind the big spruce tree in her back yard.

Guys aren't sluts. Just pigs.
I had my first french kiss in a game of spin the bottle in 7th grade. I try to forget that one though. The first one that meant anything was in 8th grade, a harmless kiss with my best friend. And then there was summer of 8th grade, and stuff happened then I wish I could forget.
Let me put it this way. If you're in 8th grade, I don't care who you are, you are not ready to have oral sex. In all honesty, please, please GOD, if you're 15 or under, DON'T do it. I don't care how much fun it sounds like.
So pretty much, the first kiss that counted (I.e. with a girlfriend, and I'm not regretting it to this day) was summer after 9th grade at camp, with a girl I really wish I could still be with, but she lives halfway across the country.

To tell the truth, I think it is a little of both. Really, most of those guys are very shy about women and aren't sure how to behave around us, so they just try to treat us as they treat their friends. I've come to the understanding that when someone says "You're not like a real girl, you're cool," is actually a compliment. A weird one, but a compliment nonetheless.

Well, I had my first kiss on the cheek in like kindergarden or something and my first mouth kiss (lol) was in 2nd grade. There was this girl who I was really good friends with and we both really liked each other so we tried kissing for fun and liked it so much that we did it whenever no one was watching (it was cute). My first "french kiss" was at summer camp, the summer after 7th grade. I liked this girl and she liked me so we dated and we kissed after about a week of dating. And now (as a freshman) I have 3 girls and 2 guys that like me. But the guy I really like says I'm a little too young but he thinks I'm really cute (I don't like girls ^_^). So I'm content.
To make a long and complicated story short, my first kiss was in a movie theater during some random Teen Comedy (I can't even remember now...) Either way, the girl I was with kissed me on the cheek towards the end of the movie. I thought it was a fluke at first so I didn't pay any mind. She then did it again, so I looked at her, and she kissed me on the lips. Oh, did I mention her boyfriend was sitting next to her? Yeah. That didn't blow over so well. My first kiss sucked.

I got my first kiss in kindergarten. Back then, I was too dumb to even know what the word girlfriend itself meant, I was bored too.
I also gave my first French kiss in grade 5. The results of that, however, were nasty.

14 years old. I had been "seeing" this girl who lived a billion miles away from me (well, as far as Cape Cod, MA to Long Island, NY) via snail-mail and telephone.
Her and her best friend (coincidentally my best friend's girl), were on vacation with the friend's parents in scenic MA. I got my first kiss at that campground. It was also the kiss that helped her decide that I was no good for her, as she had dumped me a whole week after that.

I first kissed a girl when I was 5 years old and in kindergarten. I've pretty much enjoyed a constant state of exile from the opposite sex for the last 14 years. I also went to an all guys school for 4 years. I suppose this resulted in my lack of close female friends around high school......hmmmm do you suppose my personal ugliness had something to do with it as well?? I never considered that before ;)
Note: The_Promise is a bitter and sullen old man in a 19 year old's body.

What remark? I made a statement based on pure fact. At my university, there are like 20 girls in my year doing Computer Science, out of over 200 students. Where did I say that the reason was because they're no good at it?

You wouldn't know it looking at the hairy manly-man I am today (pay no attention to that man behind the Princess Tutu sig), but I was a hopeless romantic as a teenager. Just the scent of perfume would make me bow my head and blush. Fortunately, there was no shoujo manga around to read or I may very well have become an actual Japanese schoolgirl. Anyway, I didn't manage my first qualifying kiss until sometime around my 18th birthday. I was, of course, horrible at it. Luckily, so was the girl.

first kiss is very special and have a great meaning here, and it's said that ''if u have ur first with a girl who's also having her first with you, ur love will last forever'' or something like that. :)

T-t-t...I'm 19 and counting, haven't recieved a kiss to date. It's not like I'm waiting for anything, and I do have alot of female contact...but I never find myself romantically interested in them. Sexually attracted, sure, but that's a given. I guess you could say I've never been in love. And I hate it. Particularly considering that I love romance and would give anything for a serious, romantic relationship. Alas, I have no wish to kiss or have sex with someone I'm not in love with, so to this day I am deprived of kisses.

I kissed my first girlfriend when I was 13 yrs old. And, I most say, after having one other girlfriend since then, but many other relations, I must have sucked. I havent had a girlfriend since I was 14, currently 17 (almost 18) I didnt kiss another girl for 2 yrs until I went to New York. First kisses really arent important, when you experience your first Meaningful kiss, with someone you are sure you like, very much, that is the one that means something. Not the one that happens when you are both to young to even begin to know what the phrase "french kiss" means.

I'd hate to think that high school is the best time of a person's life... I guess I have a pretty dreary existence ahead of me, if that's the case. ^_^
I'm only 14, never had a boyfriend, and don't really care. I'm way too picky and I'm saving my first kiss for someone who's really special. Naturally, most of the boys in my high school aren't too special. Just immature.

It has nothing to do with your highschool. This is how people carrying the "Y" chromosome behave at that age.

Of course, I didn't mean that it was strictly my high school. I live in a relatively small town, so my selection of guys is basically limited to my high school.

Personally i think any love life you have in highschool is a waste of time usually after highshool you don't ever see that person again also it causes alot of drama and it is a money sucker having a girlfriend or boyfriend but then again I'm no expert.

An obvious romantic here. Watch out girls this one's a real romeo  (love = waste of time, unecessary drama, and money sucker).
Do you have any fun in your life? I mean lots of things waste our time, take our money and cause us some grief (anime for example). It doesn't mean we excise them from our life. How...joyless.

It is still a waste of time I mean to say which is better spending a bunch of time and money on a girl who you think really likes you and then dumps you or something and breaks your heart or second choice skip all the drama and heart break and spend the money and time on doing things with your friends, buying music ,anime and so on.I personally think the second choice sounds much better. Not to say that love doesn't work out sometimes otherwise the population would be much smaller.

I hate to break the news for you, but life is all about hardship, drama and heartbreak. It is those little moments of joy that make it bearable. If you deny yourself those to play it safe, or to "save your money", you may eventually become a very bitter, bitter person.

It's pretty hard to think back to my first kiss... That was quite some time ago.
Though I'm young...really young, I've had quite a few Girlfriends. Through what I've been through HS I've began to learn that most of the 'relationships' at this level are superficial and built off social status (minus a select few). So I haven't worried much about a kiss. A kiss is like a handshake... Just more intimate and usually not with the same sex... (at all for me.. >.>;; )
(((Edit... Mistake on emoticon because of my '>.>;;' ran in with the ')' to make this... "(at all for me.. >.>;;)" )))

In addition to what SC said, you wouldnt really get a chance to excercise your "im a personality" moral without actually getting to know a girl. As well as that, its just good practice starting off with girls.
Trust me, it's a lot easier to start off with those little teenage love aches and learn from them for future relationships. It's all part of growing up, i wish i wasnt such an anti-relationship guy back 3 years ago. Long story short, i like a girl who liked me back then. If i bothered i would have been in a much better relationship with her than i am now, but thats how life goes.
Bitter because you've had a bad experience with a girl? it happens sometimes, plently more fish in the sea. And besides, it doesnt nessecerly mean you and her are over with.
and thats that.

I see it as the training wheels of the real thing. Otherwise, I can assure you it will be awkward for you (and the girls) later on without having the experience.
High school romance is not as complex as the same thing in the adult world.

Hehe, just saw this... Couldn't agree moreover. I may think that early relationships, pre-teen and teen alike, are for the most part superficial, but I understand the fact that sometimes it's nice to experience something in your life. Without the things we find joy with in our lives we would be destined to an asthenitic eternity.
Only a select few are serious in their HS relationships, nonetheless I feel it's a very important time of building. We all need to have a little background in the game of love before we can be set out into the world. I for one can say I'm very glad to have done the 'wasteful' things in life that I have done. At least I've done something.

Alright I can see I'm outnumbered here on this issue and you guys do make some good points but I still really think that you should avoid relationships in HS that you know will end badly but yes I can see how it does give you some good experience for relationships later in life.

Wow your psychic abilities must be really strong. I mean knowing the relationships will end badly in advance? Amazing.
My boyfriend from my senior year in HS has been my husband for 13+ years now. Good thing I didn't decide to pass him up because I was in HS. ;)
I'm very very happily married, something that many couples who start out in the "real" world don't achieve for as long as we have. I'm not saying everyone should get engaged their senior year and follow in my footsteps. It isn't the path for everyone. I AM saying that all relationships are risky. It isn't your age or place in the world that matters in love as much as your level of maturity and readiness to be involved.
I applaud you for seeking reality and substance in your love life. I caution you against being too close minded about the possibilities open to you. You can't know what will happen for sure and you should never assume that an external circumstance (such as being in HS) is a precurser to a doomed relationship. You are closing yourself off to all that could be and disrespecting people who do find lasting relationships during their HS years to boot. They aren't all just fluff and nonsense.
Oh, and get your date to pay her own way. Man, what are we in the 50's? I mean I didn't leech on my dates and that was in the late 80's. :) Love need not be hard on the pocket book.

I am 16, almost 17 and I havent technically had my first kiss. I did have this boyfriend when i was in 3rd grade though, but he cheated on me with this hoochie Spanish chick in front of me, but i really didnt care (we only "dated" for 3 days ROFL). Ever since I found out about the "Real world", when i was in ninth grade, I really lost interest in seeking out guys in my all rich white school. I am actually attractive and i know that, but the quality of guys arent worth my time.
To Understand better why I havent had a boyfriend, I will put it into the words of my history Subsitute, which is a conservative football coach that stares at highschool girls clevage all hour when he asked the question "Is bush a good president."
I reply with a no, and a 14 point anaylsis and here is his reply:
*Gives me a shocked dumbfounded look*
"Missy, with that mouth you are never going to have a boyfriend"
Oh woah Is me..... I am never going to have a boyfriend, because I dislike bush, I should just kill myself right now, *cue tear drop*

On the contrary, I don’t give "women" a bad name, I don’t represent the whole women’s race, and this isn’t even worth my time. Before I go in-depth to why what you said was a very antifeminist remark, you should apologize for saying that I give women a bad name, what about people? Just please shut your sexist mouth, no offense.
The 14-point remark, I believe, was well said, the democrats in my class, 5 in total, really enjoyed it and said it was presented very efficiently.
One more thing, Sound Chaser I am sorry If a girl played you out, but if they did they were dumb, unless you were a idiot as well. I don’t "do" dates, like I stated earlier, the boys that I "mess" with either deserve it, aka the people that harass other at school for being different, for example harassing the special education kids for there actions around school, or know the game as well.
Also, I am quite disappointed. All the posts that I have read that says BANG BOTH THE GIRLS and other nonsense as that hasn’t nearly gotten the whole "You give guys a bad name rap," That is why I can say that your post are a tad bit Sexist in themselves.
I did get a present from a boy once. It was a little c0cker spaniel dog in a crate that he'd sent all the way from Texas. Black and white spotted. Well...we males already have a pretty "bad name"...that's why almost all girls will go on the defensive when they meet a new guy...at least until they get to know that they aren't some pervert, assuming the guy isn't a pervert. If you wanna see this in action when you are of age, go to a club and watch some pathetic fool try to talk to a girl and see how she acts toward him.

Well arent you a little stereotypical?
But anyways, I've Been there done that, a couple of months ago, a drunkard was talking to me at a bar in Barbados, about how the black people in Newfoundland are lazy. and taking away all there jobs. Lets just say he left with a giant red wet spot on his pants.

Yes I am being a lil stereotypical and generalzing a bit I admit...but stereotypes tend to be grounded in some truth and it's hard not to generalize a little seeing as how I can't say how you personally would act. I can only go by what I've seen happen to other people.
Now granted not all are gonna be shot down like dogs, especially if they have any clue how to act around women. But I was just trying to point out that...for the most part, women are gonna be defensive when a guy they don't know approaches them.
Sophie
06-01-2004, 03:48 PM
Well, arent guys as well? You are playing it out as girls are the only ones that are cautious, and aware. You know the whole lady in distress kind of cliche. While guys are outgoing and have a "i dont give a damn which girl i have" cliche. I hope you see where you are wrong and leaning on the sexist side.
Soushi Okita
06-01-2004, 03:56 PM
I think we aren't on the same page here and I don't see how I'm being sexist...every girl I know would agree with me...they don't trust guys they don't know b/c they know that it isn't safe. I'm not talking about a girl nervous or guy being outgoing...I know that isn't gonna be true. The most outgoing person I know is a girl so whatever. I'm not trying to say that a girl is gonna be this humble lil girl sitting in the corner while the guy is this outgoing party animal or some crap like that.
I'm talking about the fact that girls have a bit more to worry about as it concerns to the guys they meet. There are so many freaks out there who's only intention is to take advantage of a girl. I would say that very few guys have to worry about some girl trying to date rape them or turn into a stalker. That is what I'm talking about. I wasn't trying to say girls are gonna be nervous and cautious when it comes to meeting new people and guys won't. Sorry if that is how it was interpreted.

I'm not sexist, by a longshot. Actually I was not too keen on that remark "bang them both", but I have seen enough girls playing head games with guys to know they are the ones who make certain stereotypes about women hold.
And how is my remark antifeminist, may I ask? I didn't say anything like "the only good woman is the one that stays home, cleans the dishes and watches over the kids".

2. That everyone you know around your age has already received their first kiss.

I was about 6 or 7, that sounds about right, and we were coming home from my friend's house and were being brought home by my friend's parents and my friend was along. So I stepped out the car and as fast as I possibly could kissed him and ran. technically..I have never been kissed....pathetic me..

Well, arent guys as well? You are playing it out as girls are the only ones that are cautious, and aware. You know the whole lady in distress kind of cliche. While guys are outgoing and have a "i dont give a damn which girl i have" cliche. I hope you see where you are wrong and leaning on the sexist side.
actually Sophie you're the one being sexist. I didn't plan on replying to this thread, but seeing this i had to correct you. you're the one who is being sexist by saying no guy you met is up to your so called level. This shows you're really arrogant in thinking you're better then most males which may be true but to go parading this fact around shows a sexist mindset....you can choose to ignore me or you can also opt to listen and realize YOUR ERRORS

as for my first kiss....i did get a peck on the lips in 9th grade while playing some game where you chase a girl and kiss her before she kisses a guy in the center of the room.

I had my first kiss when I was 14 and its really not all that great. I was so anxious to actually kiss someone that it wasnt with someone special. I think it is better to wait to kiss someone special who you really like, then to rush it and just kisssome random person. It's not that im a prude, I just think it isnt even that great and you might as well wait. It's not like you get an orgasm from k,issing or any physical feeling to make it worth wile, it is just an expression of love and one that is meaningless if wasted on someone who you dont really want to express your love too. So if you have been kissed, whatever. And if you haven't dont worry about it.

Well, I've held out on this thread long enoug...other than my "sexperimentation" between the ages of 5 and 8, my kissing has been keptto a minimum. I was of an age when I entered kindergarten at which it could have gone either way -- I was young for my class, but I would have been old if I had waited an extra year to start grade school. I took drivers' ed at the age of 14 in the 10th grade -- that was fun. Incidentally, the girl in question was from my highschool class, and was a month younger than me (presumably -- she didn't know when her birthday actually was).
Thatstoodamnbad, I seem to remember you being single a couple months ago -- congrats on the positive developments.

Meh... it is not THAT uncommon. I entered college at 17 too. I was skipped a year in grade school because it seemed I was "too advanced" for my class.
Of course, that also meant I was bullied by older and bigger kids most of my school life :P

First kiss was when I was 16 I believe...
It was a high school camp. I've been after this girl (cute half chinese, half cambodian) for maybe a year and we got together before then for maybe a month but it didn't work out. She broke up with me saying we should just be friends.
But I couldn't get her out of my mind. So I kept at it for another year till we got together again. And then the high school camp happened.
Quite frankly I would say she was braver than me. Of course girls and guys were not allowed to be in each others houses, but in the middle of the night on the second night we were there, she knock on the door of our house just when my friend and I were discussing scary stories. Freaked the hell out of everybody but it thrilled the pants off of me (okay, bad image there)...
We just lied down in bed and in the darkness and silence our lips just found each other. It was almost magical. Up until then I didn't even realise just how full and magnificent her lips were... but yeah, they were just nice...
End Communication.

waiting for your first kiss only applies to girls. Guys hunt down the hottest girl in sight... than if that fails, you mark the next hottest target in sight and so on. While some continue to persue their orginal target if their into that unrequited love thing or shes one hell-of-a-babe.

I didn't even know it was something about tradition of how in Mexico a daughter and her getting a boyfriend (or kiss for that matter) was such importance. does anyone else have the same or similar ideas of a kiss being kinda sacred? or am i just beyond weird? :pI don't know about the sacred stuff, but there is some reason behind all that. More specifically, waiting for a kiss makes all the difference for the experience when it comes, not in terms of how long you wait, but in terms of the thought, the longing, and visualization that goes into it beforehand.
In other words, a kiss is only as good as the thought and feeling that goes into it. Therefore love and sincerity make a big difference.
Some people kiss so often and so carelessly that it's best to avoid them and kiss some dead batteries instead.
yup very true.
one of my older friends walks around and he and his girl friend are in such uh.... sweet puppy love (as he calls it) that when they kiss they both blush and turn away from the other. it's really kinda sweet to watch them ^^ since neither has ever had a gf or bf before, so its funny in a way.

I would say that that first kiss of mine is forever burned in my skull in just how it meant. Admittedly that relationship is now well and trully over (I think I've been single now for 4 years with a few burnt out attempts every so often) but no one can tell me that the special moment I had with her back then has to be forgotten.
I mean I've had countless other kisses back then, some simple pecks, some so passionate you get to the verge of ripping each others clothes off, but nothing can compare to that first one. I heard from somewhere before that your first (first in their meaning I think was your first relationship) will change you in ways you can't imagine. You will never be the same again. You will always compare every other one after it to the first. And I believe that...
So my suggestion is wait for that one moment when the stars are out and it's only the two of you gazing up at the sky above and you don't wish for anything else in your life because it was right there in front of you, waiting to be fulfilled...
Intelligent, interesting, affectionate, kind, playful, adrenaline-junkie alpha males with a great sense of humor. That is, to begin with. ;)
You forgot handsome.
You forgot handsome.
:D
I said to begin with. :) Didn't want to risk getting the carpal tunnel syndrome from all the typing a comprehensive list would require. ;) Besides, certain egos do not need any more inflating, now, do they? :p

I think there's also a character cap imposed on each post, so that has to be taken into consideration, too.

And it was. You know I think things through... Except when I don't. Not this time, though. This time I took a page from your pragmatist's manual. ;)

I'm 17 now and I have yet to be kissed...kind of sad, though I'd rather wait until college in order to get my first kiss because right now all the guys in my highschool are most if not all completely immature and sexist.

Never been kissed. Want to but I'm waiting until I'm at least 16,17,or 18 and I think a first kiss should be with someone really special that you really care for

Not all guys, I stoped when I was 8...
...which is probably why I haven't been kissed yet T_T Or maybe it's that I haven't taken the time to get to closer to the girls I know.
So I haven't been kissed. Unless on the cheek counts. But I know it doesn't. Not in this thread T_T

you must be gay. cause all real men have some immaturity in them. thats why girls have to change there standards when they get married.

No fair, I edited that out!
or unless you mean the 8 year old stuff...well it was around that age I couldn't write a story with the female character being defenseless. She always had to kick ass...thats just the way I am.
Probably 'cause my sister is a feminist.
No, I was talking about the immature part. Let's face it, all guys are immature! I don't consider myself sexist at all. Feminists piss me off though.

Bah!
To answer the question (which I havent done yet for some reason....) I actually got my first kiss at the age of 4 during preschool. Yes, it was on the lips and it was with a girl my own age. But, I don't really count that. So, my real one would be at the age of 13.

I kinda blew everything outta porportion. Everyguys immature (hence my "POOP" post)...doesn't mean they're sexist. They should piss you off Dk. Yes, feminist are kinda annoying, especially feminists who're also anarchists. (but my sister's cool, she not as much of a feminist as she was 2 years ago, still an anarchist though :devil )But any way I think I'm just gonna delete some posts. (Gonna keep the "POOP" one though)Scratch that, I killed the "POOP" one...
I'm gonna end it, I'm gonna fill out the poll.

Don't think your wasting time because you might not know how that person feels unless you go after it. Don't worry about it okay and it's alright if they don't return the feelings there's plenty of peopl out there. But everything will be okay and I wish you luck and like I said you're not wasting time. The only way your wasting time is if your not doing anything about it thats how your wasting time. But Good luck
