Basically what songs from FF's do you like listening to, this isnt to say that it has to be straight out of the game orchestral's or piano versions are acceptable. I myself can't seem to get enough of Dancing Calcobrena from the FF IV Celtic Moon OST and the Orchestral Version of the FF VI Opening. Your thoughs..

Same here, as a matter of fact, The Black Mages have made a rock n roll arrangement of it. For other songs, I'm for Eyes on Me and Suteki da Ne, but what gets me goin is not of just theme songs, but for heart within the music. Otherwise I go for the battle music.

I forgot to mention that one as well. Quite a refreshing song that screams "hope" even when all seems lost in FFIV.

FFVI Title + Opening: I absolutely LOVE that spooky, chilling theme. It really sets the mood for the game perfectly. It gives me the shivers. Perhaps my favourite opening music ever.

FFVII Cid's Theme: Really gets those adventure juices flowing. :D

FFVII Aerith's Theme: Extremely sad but beautiful melody.


I rate songs from the FF series more on the emotion that I can feel in the music rather than the actual composition. One Winged Angel is still pretty darn good though.

Final Fantasy VI - Wild Wild West (The Veldt): Again, awesome.
Final Fantasy VII - Aerith's Theme: *sniff* Gets me every time.
Final Fantasy VII - World Map Theme (Pre-Disc 3): What can I say? I love this shiz.
Final Fantasy VII - On the Other Side of the Mountain: Not many people know this one. It's the beautiful guitar tune that plays during the one memory in the Lifestream in disc 2.
Final Fantasy VIII - Liberi Fatali: Nothing better than awesome music with awesome vocals...
Final Fantasy VIII - Somewhere I Belong (Trabia Garden): The first time I heard this, I didn't do anything for an hour. I sat there and listened...listened...
Final Fantasy IX - Melodies of Life (Full 7½ minute version): Great song followed by great instrumental...
Final Fantasy IX - You're Not Alone!: This song is nothing short of spectacular and awesome.

Truth be told, though I have FFIV, V, and VI in my possession (PSX versions), I haven't had the time or motivation to play them yet (plus my PS2 is gone), so I can't really comment on them.

Final Fantasy 7's "Life Stream" theme was my favourite FF theme. I love how it starts off so calm and serene, and then builds up it's tempo. The music fits absolutely perfectly with the beginning of the game, where it's a calm scene (showing Aeris in the alley), then as the camera pans out, the music gets really intense and epic, as the sense of scale of Midgar is revealed, giving me goosebumps. Then, the music picks up, giving a great sense of action as the camera zooms on the train, revealing Cloud. Great music.

Other songs that are runner ups, are Liberti Fatali, One Winged Angel, Cloud's Theme, and the FF9 battle music.

I like the original full version better with the music they used for the FMV in the game. I thought it sounded better the way she sung it.
