Happy. I feel hapy with myself. i kind of lose myself in the world of anime and for that time, I feel okay with me, like I have a good life and nothing has ever gone wrong.

I feel normal

Anime makes me feel very relaxed and feel at ease with myself. A good example of this was just last week. We lost to West Memphis, the worst team in our conference, and coach promised us that we were gonna have an extra long practice with lots of running, so to get my mind off of the eventual punishment, I just popped in some DVDs and my mind was worry free. We eventually got our punishment, but at least I didnt worry myself to death over it thanks to anime.

I wouldn't watch it if I wasn't entertained.

Anime makes me happy. Just generally bouncy and smiley, or peaceful.

Anime makes me feel lots of things happy, sad, energetic basically all emotions and such. Overall anime makes me feel entertained which is always a good thing.

Anime generally entertains me, but on rare occasions a series or movie will provoke me more than amuse me. Those series are the types I value.

Depends on the anime, if I feel like I just want a good laugh, or for something to pass the time, or if I'm in the mood to be just plain freaked out by something...

Plus, there ain't really many programs on TV that you to think about for a while afterwards just to make sense of the proceedings....

Anime entertains me. Period. Doesn't take Freudian Psychology to figure that out. :D

Anime gets my mind off the rest of the problems of life. It is an escape for reality. Therefore, I'm always relaxed when I'm watching whatever the Anime might be.

I just you can kind of say anime is like a drug (for me that is). People use drugs to escape from reality, well I use anime to enter a better reality.

It's impossible to tell how I'm feeling after watching anime since anime is so diverse it can evoke ALL kinds of feeling in me. (You wouldn't have wanted to be near me when I finished watching the "Wolf's Rain" OVAs...)

Hmm, yes, I guess even anime can illicit some negative responses from the viewer, especially after a notoriously worthless 'last episode'.

Hmm, I've spent 6 and a bit hours my life waiting for things to get wrapped up nicely, and this is all I get in return?

Depends on the anime.
Grave of the Fireflys - depressed
.Hack//sign - confussed
Noir - strange
Tenchi Muyo - content
Robotech - glad the singing is done
Sakura Wars - happy

Happy & cheerful most of the time...

I sometimes feel happy and sad at the same time, but this only occurs occasionally when I've seen something really beautiful.

(The end of the final Kenshin OAV springs to mind as well as the ending of NGE Death and Rebirth... (I just love the music, Canon by Pachelbel, it suits the mood wonderfully.)

Generally... I cannot express the joy that anime brings me in mere words... its not just the emotions I get when I watch it, because those can vary... its the joy that it brings me afterwards that I find so incredible...

watching anime... thinking about anime... drawing anime... all of these things bring me joy and relaxation...

Here is my 1-minute anime Haiku (dont have time to think of a good one my Ramen water is boiling...):

Anime and Life,
It is not how we see it,
but how it shows us.

Wrap your mind around that one...

That's not wierd at all. I feel that way to after watching it. I am in love with, well the show itself. Also the characters. I really think that Naota is very cute. Not to mention he is surrounded by hot chicks. I have to 2nd that. I feel that way to.

I agree with most people who posted, that anime can inflict many various feelings. The first and most common feeling I notice is Enjoyment. But there are cases where it's more like Fear or Self-Hatred for watching such crap (Tekken, DBZ, the list goes on). Other feelings would follow enjoyment such as sadness, annoyance, grief, and confusion. Feelings usually generate while we are watching anime, but it also occurs after you've finished, of course.

It does either of two things.

I feel really good and go and draw for a few hours because I have suddenly become more creative than ever.

I feel dissatisfied because
(A) the anime was terrible
(B) I can't be cool like that.

Nice, I am still learning new stuff about anime, and do everyday. I bet I do not study it like you though. I just study it to yet have a better understanding of what anime is, and where it came from, as well as the progression. So anime makes me feel good. A nice break, from the real world.

It obviously depends on the anime but most anime leaves me with a good satisfied feeling. I usually watch anime alone though because I don't have many friends that are anime fans as well. Because of this it also makes me feel lonely because I have no one to enjoy it with.

anime like any other artistic medium is capable of inspiring various emotions inside of the viewer. It truly depends on the episode and/or series. Whichever emotion anime invokes in me I enjoy the experience and come away with a kind of content feeling. However, my watching is more of a study, I am not calling myself a scholor, however, I do find a certain pleasure with analyzing and comparing

when i watch anime (still differs from each...) i learn a lot...
cuz what i love in anime is that words have a lot of weight and they react by the same path to that statment. they say a lot of different things and keep me intrested with new angles about things in my life, it makes me wiser, i think...

Watching anime usually makes me feel cheerful to be diving into a new world (yes, I know it's fictional), to experience a lot of situations that I would never be able to experience in real life. It's just a fun form of entertainment that can invoke many different moods from me (excitement, sadness, laughter, etc...). Plus, there are some good traits in characters or overall themes in some shows which give you a better perspective/view on life.

I'm a generally a person who hates life and wonders if its pointless and all... But whenever I watch anime... I get all cheerful and hyper... Its probably the only thing that cheers me up... It makes me wonder if my life can be as unconventional and mysterious as an anime series... I know I'm dreaming but... I can still hope...

How does anime make me feel? Well, that depends but like jetfire put it, it usually lightens me up. There are anime that cheers me up, usually comedies like Azumanga Daioh and Cromartie High School; while there are depressing ones, such as Rurouni Kenshin: Seisouhen and Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. One thing's for sure: I feel very, very glad if I managed to watch an anime that has some morals to its story and advertantly (or inadvertantly) teaches me something important in the aspects of life. Here's a quote from Now and Then, Here and There that I'll hold deep in my heart on life (just a rough intepretation):

Final Episode: When Sis was about to die, she uttered to Sala, "You may hate the father, you may hate this world, but don't ever hate your baby. No one is born guilty; every child is born innocent"

Depending on the anime I can feel whatever emotion the anime is trying to convey. If it's a sad anime I will feel sad if it effects me in some way that is, happy, then I'll feel happy.

I used to feel happy, lost in the world itslef, but recently I have felt as though Anime is a waste of my time. I can watch a series I have seen over and over but it's very difficult for me to get into a new series for some reason. I don't want to feel this way because I love anime. I just need to find a new found love for it I guess.

Dark Lord

That's easy!!! I immediately fall in love... as long as the anime is worth my time... But I hope you don't misunderstand my feelings... Because one might think I'm sick for falling in love with an anime... Its just that it's the only thing that makes me truly happy anymore...

It makes me feel great. I forget about all the crap that’s going on in my life. I get lost in the series or movie and its like I am in a whole different world. I really wish I had some when I was in Iraq. It really would of helped but I will bring some next time.

A poster on Slashdot.org recently made reference to Tolkien's primary and secondary realities in a discussion on the definition of gaming addiction. This prompted a discussion between me and another about this being the very reason I love anime as I do...and uh I do. Many, though gawd knows not all, highlight those virtues we appreciate in life...you know loyalty, fealty, bravery, honor, dedication, sharp wit, heroism, etc. So it shouldn't be surprising that the answer to "how does anime make you feel" is GOOD, of course. If it didn't provide an enjoyment factor of some sort I can't imagine many of us would return to it as often as we do. But I've also found that this good feeling lasts longer than the good feeling of some other media's. If I go to the cinema I might enjoy a movie. But more often than not I have forgotten it by the time I get home. Not some with anime. Perhaps partially due to the need to slow down and watch it in episodes or perhaps because it is often of better quality (more depth etc). Is this a comment on the good aspects of anime or the dire circumstances of Hollywood? My point is that I tend to find myself considering the events and outcomes of an anime over a length of time and thereby not only feel good about it, but feel good for an extended period of time.

In general anime makes me feel fulfilled, like I have at least one thing I can always count on to bring me joy.

Yes, even Evangelion can bring me great joy (even if it is MEGA depressing). Anime such as One Piece and Shaman King inspire me, making me feel like even just one person can make a difference in this world if they try hard enough. Naruto makes me feel the same way. I adore Magical Girl anime, though I can't really put into words why or what it makes me feel. I just know that it's good. Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew, etc. just drive me wild! (Though I feel a little embarrassed when someone watches them with me.)

Hmmm, it honestly depends on what I'm watching.

If it's up-beat, the said show will generally put me in a good mood. If it's somewhat dramatic, slow-paced, sad, etc. I'll be put in a more subdued mood.

Anime is really just a way that I like to release myself from my surroundings and delve into a fantasy (cartoon) world for a minute. So in a way, it has a slight feeling of escapism associated with it too.
