Does anyone watch Naruto?
Anyway, I read in the manga how Sasuke gets really hurt or even killed by Haku. Does that happen in the anime and what happens after that?

I both watch Naruto and read the manga. Are you sure you want to hear this spoiler? Ok then...

Naruto thinks Sasuke is dead, and in his anguish, the seal on the 9-tails fox demon leaks. He more or less transforms, and is able to use the fox-demon's ki (which is much stronger than his own). He then proceeds to kick much ass. He is able to beat Haku because his speed was increased bigtime.

Should I continue?

maverick, thank you for that piece of info but the manga already had that. What i was aiming for was: Does Sasuke ever come back to life or something like that? Sorry for the confusion.

Ive watched only about 10 episodes of Naruto and read only a few naruto mangas from Shonen Jump and I still gotta say the manga is better simply because it doesnt include that crappy theme song... its friggin 80's style... <has hair band flashbacks>

52? Please. I've seen 74 episodes, and read 208 chapters of the manga. I'm practically caught up with the people reading/seeing it in Japan.

Oh, and Senshi, the first and third opening songs suck, but the second one rules, as does the third ending. Besides, nobody said you had to watch the opening songs.

Hound Dogs are a great band and the opening song, although not as good as Haruka Kanata is very very good. I actually like the anime better than the manga just because of the great feel that the anime has, partially contributing to that is the awesome music.
btw, sakura, for any questions regarding the series such as characters, techniques, and episode guides, you should check out
either Narutofan.com or narutoguide.com they have very comprehensive material.

No need to brag about how much of the series you have seen. Naruto is a great series, no doubt about it. Rock Lee is the bomb :)

True... but it does tend to detract from the quality of the anime (even if music is a bit subjective)...

Even the Academy guys knock animes from time to time for having crappy music... The Hajime no Ippo reviews come to mind...

From the FAQ (http://animeacademy.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10603):

There are certain rules that all students are expected to abide by if they wish to remain enrolled at the Anime Academy. Failure to do so will result in warnings and/or expulsion:

1) Do not promote or mention how and where to obtain licensed material illegally. This covers fan subs, mp3s, bootlegs and peer-to-peer programs.

2) Treat others with respect. You don't have to agree with another student's views, but you must respect that person's opinions. On that same note, flaming or using excessive harsh language will not be tolerated.

3) Keep off-topic or other assorted spam to a bare minimum. We are here to discuss anime, and no one wants to sift through pages of you talking about your cat Fluffy. This also includes double-posting.

4) Post in the forum most closely related to your topic of discussion. Since we do not have an area designated for introductions, this means no "Hi, I'm new" threads.

5) Do not provide or post links to vulgar or pornographic material. Every Anime Academy student has the responsibility to keep their campus clean.

no worries... not your fault... if I get myself kicked out its cause my own dumbassness (sp?)... after reading that faq looks like i probably got a demerit or something... <shrugs>

anyways back on topic... anybody know exactly how many episodes are in the Naruto anime? cause I mean they even after about 60 odd episodes and it doesnt look like they have gotten that far plotwise...

I hope it isnt gonna be like Ranma or One Piece and just go on an on and on til you just get sick and tired of trying to keep up with it...

that or be like Ippo where they just sorta stop in the middle of everything and keep you wanting more...

No demerit since I know you're new -- I just wanted to make sure you're aware of the rule. - Madoka

right now there are 74 and the manga is up to chapter 208 and it doesnt look like it's going to end anytime soon.
The anime is up to around chapter 125 of the manga, so I'm gonna guess, as long as Naruto's popularity stays high, the we will see at least 150 episodes, probably closer to 200. But thats just a guess.

Hmm, reguarding the Naruto anime length, take a look at precedents. The "medium" length series are usually 50 eps (think Gundam). When it gets long, you can go up to the hundreds. Take One Peice, it's 180. For the moment, I'm setting that as my tentative limit for Naruto. It could go beyond that, but I'll wait and see.

And comparing the maga and anime, well, the only way I can describe it is that the manga feels like a carbon copy of the anime. I just can't enjoy it as much.

Heh, here's a better way to describe it. Remember Naruto's first episode? Remember how his replicant turned out? Well, that's how the manga looks like compared to the anime. :)

i've seen episodes 1-61 i love that anime. thats my favorite anime i would have seen more but i dont have that much money. my favorite character is sasuke. he's the man. o and kakashi. why did they make naruto suck so much. but in a way he doesn't suck. he can summon that frog guy that his father summoned the forth hokage.

to be on the subject of the manga vs. the anime, the manga is much better. Possibly because I haven't liked any of the op/end songs since the series began, after a while i just stopped watching after episode 70 or so. I didn't really continue the manga either, it's just not to my taste. However, I would recommend the manga over the anime overall, especially with the current Naruto ending __ __, it gave me headaches.

well a good thing about manga is that if you don't get a part you can just reread that part till you understand. It is different with anime if you don't get a part and the episode is on TV then you probably are going to not get the part for a long while

Like Youta said... anyway, is there a major difference between the manga and the anime series? i'd like to know - before i even read any of the manga.

Though someone else here could probably answer you a lot better, my answer (from what I've read of the manga and seen from the anime) is no. The biggest differences I noticed were that the fight scenes were more coherent in the anime, but plot and major stuff like that was basically the same. But then, I only saw up to 70 something in the anime, and read the first few manga volumes, as well as some of the later chapters.

It is kind of like Dragonball Z. The manga is far more succint, but the aesthetics are inferior (Berserk is probably the only manga to surpass its anime as far as this goes); the anime has some of the best fight scenes this side of Hollywood, but it is plagued with prolonged arcs and filler episodes.

Correction, the manga is ahead, and not by that much. Maybe 20 to 25 episodes of pure story and the anime will be caught up(if the manga stops). Thats why we have the long filler right now.

In general, Naruto manga fares off better than the anime because of the details and the smooth storytelling. In the anime I was kinda bored by the repetitive flashbacks in the first real story arc, but the second one solved it real nicely. Another thing is that while the art in the anime seems to begin to deteriorate, the manga just keeps improving.

Musically, I like the score and all of the openings/endings of the anime a lot... but I have to admit that ROCKS by Hound Dog is my least favorite opening after No Boy, No Cry!

Naruto anime vs manga = manga wins, if only because it doesn't have filler (thank you lord!)

That said, I adore watching parts of the anime, especially some of the fight sequences which are absolutely breathtaking.

Naruto's problem as an anime (at least for me) is that the first series is nearly 3/4 filler, most of it crap, according to most Naruto fans I know.

It may have been too successful for its own good.
