Yeah sure these are all great and all but that still isnt answering what they want to know, how do you rate this anime from 1-10 you need to add this and be more specific. But in all sense the best one of these is ROD tv and i would give this a 8 out of ten i believe that i posted that once before but i am just giving you an example on how it is done.
Final Fantasy: Advent Children 9/10: I really enjoyed watching Advent Children, even though the plot is a bit lacking, but seeing some of my favourite Final Fantasy characters reunite to save the world a second time really brought a smile to my face.
The animation was stunningly beautiful and the fight scenes were breathtaking, especially the final one, and the music really sets the mood for each scene.
Final Fantasy 7: Last Order 6/10: The animation was sharp and fluid and the fight scenes, were pretty enjoyable. But this serves no real purpose other than to retell a certain scene between Zach and Cloud, prior to Cloud coming to Midgar and becoming a mercenary of the resistance group AVALANCHE.

Yami no Matsuei 8/10 - I like this show because it was really interesting, plus it could be really funny at times. I just wish it were longer or at least gave more of an ending. Also, Tsusuki kinda annoyed me some times >_>;

What, you didn’t like Tsuzuki’s extremes of obtuse genki happiness or whiney bitch boy? :migrane: Ah well, he was cute if nothing else.
Maho Tsuki Tai! TV series. 7.5/10. I think it started to become a little too cliche in the middle, which was rather surprising in such a short series, and the art wasn’t great, but it had interesting designs and I liked the voice acting in BOTH versions. Though I didn’t like the way Nanaka’s and Aburatsubo’s relationship was played out, it came down to me thinking, ‘wasn’t he GAY last episode?’
One Piece: Dead End Adventure 8/10: Pretty much just filler for the long running series, but I really enjoyed watching it, unlike most filler. Their are some really comical moments that'll have you laughing out loud and the animation has improved significantly from the first four movies. Sadly this movie serves more like an episode than an actually movie, so you'd have to be keeping up with the series to understand some of what's going on. All in all it's an small enjoyable piece of the much larger puzzle that is One Piece.

Final Fantasy VII: Last Order - 7.5: Great art, animation, music, and voice acting. However, some things were different from in the game (Sephiroth did not jump into the Mako pool, dammit!), and the ending blew.

Welcome to the top 10
Was simply amazing especially from 18+. It may be not my #1 favorite, but it is something everyone should see at least once. There isn't anything that I consider a flaw in this series. Everything was done right. It all comes down to personal taste. Also has the best animation evar.

Princess Nine Eps. 1-5: 9.5 - Wow. Just...wow. The only thing I can think of as a negative is that the artwork isn't too great at times, but other than that, this is one damn incredible series so far!

A little of both ^^;. But he was cute.
Paradise Kiss (ep. 1 &2) 6.5/10 - I dunno what it is that's not making me enjoy this show as much as I would like to. It just seems a little...eh. I think Paradise Kiss works much better in manga form, seriously. The transitioning in this show is awful, truthfully. And the little flower and monster things scrolling across the screen every 4-5 minutes makes me want to scream; it's very annoying. The SD forms of the characters looked a bit strange to me at first, but I kind of appreciate it because it doesn't look like everyone else's. The art is awsome though (duh, it's Ai Yazawa, should we expect less?). And Miwako is the cutest thing ever. I just want to pinch her cheeks XD.

You're right, it does. Not that anyone listens.
Howl's Moving Castle - 8.5
It's not Miyazaki's best by any stretch, but it's still a damn good film. It looks gorgeous, it's got the familiar Ghibli eccentricity to it, Howl's awesome...and it doesn't make a lick of sense towards the end either, which lost it a few points. It's a bit rushed in places and some parts could have been expanded upon, but it's still very entertaining stuff. Worth the £4.50, anyway. :XD:

Ok Tremolo where on Gods green earth did you get Howls Moving Castle for less than a fiver? I was chuffed to bits to get Princess Mononoke for less that £7 but a ghibli for less than a fiver is insane!!
Just to stay on topic as well Honey and Clover Eps 1-5 rated at 9/10 this show has been cracking me up so far, as many have said already Morita is definitely a God but I really like Takemoto alot as well for his kindness and decency. I just hope I get to find out what Morita does for his job as its really intriguing me. But want to find out in the process of the story.

Sadly not, it won't be out here on DVD until early next year. I'll probably pick it up though, mainly to see it subbed.
Of course on a related note pretty much all the Ghibli stuff is coming out over here in the next few months, and properly subtitled as well, none of that dubtitled crap on the R1 releases.

I reaaly hope they redo Princess Mononoke as I own a R2 version of that and the dubtitle was really annoying as it had subs where there was no speech in the Japanese version.
Just to stay on topic I'll give Mononoke a 9/10 cracking film and my second favourite ghibli (next to Nausicaa). A wonderful fantasy tale which totally cemented my love of everything Ghibli.

Princess Nine Eps. 6-13: 9.5/10 - If it weren't for the inconsistent art and reused cels, I would've given this a 10. Great characters, music, and storyline so far, and I can't wait to finish it!
Edit: Princess Nine: 10/10 - Forget about the inconsistent art and reused cels, because, in the long run, they don't matter. You have no excuse to pass this up. The characters are great, the music is excellent, and the story takes numerous twists and turns. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the second anime to ever choke me with tears at multiple instances.

Samurai Champloo - 8/8.5
Probably one of the most fun and entertaining anime series around, Samurai Champloo is a series that shouldn't really work. But it does. Of course it's all style and no substance, but there are some amazing episodes and the animation quality is nothing less than incredibly fluid, beautiful and consistent throughout every episode. Both Jin and Mugen are wonderful, enormously memorable characters blessed with some sterling seiyuu work, whilst the music is nothing short of brilliant. It's let down only by the occasional episode that simply doesn't work, the aforementioned almost total lack of substance and villains that pretty much come out of nowhere in the final three episodes - whilst they all related back to events throughout the series, I felt the lack of background information and screentime they had hurt the intensity of the finale. Overall though this is another hit for Watanabe and I recommend it for anyone purely after a real good time.

Samurai Champloo- 7/10---Its a fun series and I liked it quit a bit, not the greatest thing I've ever seen but entertaining nonetheless :)
Gundam SEED Destiny- 4/10---Were do I even begin, it started out alright and I was actually enjoying it after the half way point but it just tanked in the second half. Is it just me or does Gundam now just ignore the laws of life and death.

Millenium Actress: 9/10
I knew right away that a story about "an actress whose lifelong search for love transcends time and genre" would appeal to me, but damn, does this film deliver. What really stands out about this film is how innovative the writing is. Instead of trying to distiguish what really happened, what didn't happen and what was a movie, you effortlessly shift between the three, because in telling the stroy of Chiyoko's life there simply is no distinction between them. In watching her act out her search by using the movies she starred in as metaphors it gives the story and her existance a larger then life feel. I was lucky enough to see this movie on the big screen so the animation really blew me away as well.
There were two things that did bug me a little though, given she was so passionate about this man, there needed to be more time devoted to what initially drew her to him, also, I quite liked the comedy but there were times where it completely ruined otherwise dramatic moments, but thankfully that becomes less frequent as the film progresses. This film was a pleasure to watch and you'd be a fool to miss it.

I have a feeling that my grade will increase as I see more episodes. I haevn't seen the movie in years and I only saw a chunk of it and the memory has created a template for my love of anime space epics/ opera. After seeing Instella 5555, I wanted to see more of Leiji Matsumoto's work so I started GE999 recently and I'm loving it. The basic plot is something that can catch someone's attention. A boy's journey through the galaxy to get a mechanical body. Simplyputbut has so much more to it. Whatnew planet will the boy go next? How will his insight on natural human life develop? When will he reach his planet of destination? Fun fun fun! :D

I just saw the first two epsiodes o Blood+ I must say it's grusome. The gore is like woa. But in all it's kinda of interesting and I am intrigued by the main character's hidden past and her connection with that strange man. so far I give it a 7.5.
Ghost in the Shell: SAC 8.5/10- Unlike the first movie, I found this series very enjoyable. It's jaw droping visuals, intense action scenes, and gorgeous music from afamed composer Yoko Kannno were certainly more than enough to keep me entertained and wanting more. But much like it's predecessors their are some issues with the story and characters. The main arc is often derailed by filler and the characters are given very little background. Hopefully the second season will have improved on those two issues. Overall it's a good series, certainly worth my $140 CDN.

Pani Poni Dash(eps 1-10)-10/10
A nice cast of characters. Catchy op(s) and end. Pretty good cast. Nice art. And I do find it amusing ^.^
Jigoku Shoujo(eps 1-2)-9/10
so far so good ^^
School Rumble(eps 1-13)-20/10(!)
By far, one of the funniest series I've ever seen. It replaces Azumanga at the top of my list. *gasp*
It's funnier than Azumanga. Another thing that helps it: Male characters. It makes it somewhat easier to relate (come on, any guy's who's been in love can relate to Harima). Very catchy op, the ending is cute. My only problem...not a lot of people seed it ^^;;
RahXephon 10/10- RahXephon is often claimed to be an Evangelion rip-off, but that is completely inaccurate. Although there are some similarities between the characters and certain scenes, but in the end RahXephon competely stands on its own.
What seperates RahXephon from Evangelion is, it's deep and interesting characters whom you can't help but feel for, a greatly told story with many revelations and plot twists which will have you wanting more, and certainly an extordinary climax and conclusion.
RahXephon's only down fall is, the monster of the week theme is over used. Same goes for the music too.

Full Metal Panic! 9/10- Full Metal Panic is a nice mixture of beatiful animation with an engaging plot and likeable characters. The story itself is comprised of a nice mixture of action, drama, and romantic comdey. With that being said, I'm sure there's something to be found in Full Metal Panic for everyone to enjoy.
I find that Full Metal Panic's only downfall is the lack of background information given about the Whispered, Mithril, and certain side characters, but hopefully some of those aspects will be cleared up with " Second Raid".

Paradise Kiss - ok given i saw only the first few episodes, which were shoved down my throat by my friend, i cant honestly say i like it. the only thing i liked was the ending animation. the animation is somewhat like Beck's and the story is also quite similar, except substitute rock band with fashion students, overall i thot it was ok. its just not very interesting maybe b/c im not into the fashion side of things but i read the manga, my friend works at a comic book store so im allowed to read while talking to him, and can say that its just like the anime IMO.

Some shows I just rewatched:
Cowboy Bebop 9.5/10 - c'mon, everyone knows Bebop is awsome XD. I like how they show different cultures and races. And awsome music. I wish they would have paid more attention to Spike and the syndacate sometimes though.
Bible Black 5/10 - Interesting. I would have liked to know a little more about the nurse's cult from when she was in high school though (he name escapes me right now). Minase got on my nerves :/
9 O'clock Women 2/10 - both main characters were flat and annoying. Weird story that I never got into, way too short.
Shin Getter Robo 8/10
I enjoyed it despite the fact that i dont know anything about the original series, but all the important facts are retold in short flashbacks. The story and the robot action start strong since the very first episode and it goes on all the way to the final episode, not time for filler, but the ending left me wondering what really happened to some of the main characters, so despite the fact that it may have been an incoherent ending(even one of the main character said "so much for the laws of physics" in the final battle) it was still satisfying , and the best part is that the next series has already been made and licensed, so i'm also gonna have to check it out.
Steamboy 9/10
Pretty good movie, there's no real villians, only scientist with different points of views, and despite the fact that it takes place in the 1800 it has plenty of mechas(steam powered of course), it might be a little too long but thats about it, i see nothing else wrong with this movie(oh, and spanish dub :D).

Infinite Ryvius 9.2 (Still in my top 10...)
Just started watching that... on ep 11 now. I give it 8 so far. The story is very addicting. But, the characters are kinda annoying especially Koji/Yuki. I think I'd go crazy if people around me really acted like them.
Berserk 9.5/10- I never really understood what was so big about this series. The whole medieval setting has been done countless times before what, would make this one so special? I soon realized what was so special about it after popping the firts volume into my DVD player back in May. What surprised me about Berserk is the characters, they're very memourable and you became attached to them as the stroy progresses, and of course the story. It's very captivating right from the begging and each episode ends with a cliff hanger, leaving you wanting more. Also Berserk has a very nice sound track that helps set the mood for certain scenes.
My only complaint about this series is well it's ending, it feels unfinshed, leaving you wanting more so you have but no choice but to pick up the manga if you want to see what happens next, not something I'm often enthusiastic about and the music, even though it is good, it is often overused.

Tide Line Blue - 6.5
A bit dissappointing in the end, as it seemed to have a bit of potential to begin with. It's not bad or anything, with the art and animation being quite nice, but this falls into that unfortunate category of being either unimportant, or simply an anime you can skip without any consequence.
Two other anime I started watching a short while ago at the same time, and are pretty much at different spectrums on the quality scale:
Twelve Kingdoms (ep 30) - 10.0
The world they've created is so rich and detailed. They seem to have thought about the whole socio-economic make-up of the world, and spiced it up with a mystical theme as well. There's really not a bad thing I can say about this so far, with the characters being down-right interesting and the plot being unravelled at, what I feel, is the perfect pace for such a story. It's unfortunate that apparantly the ending is cut short.
As for the other end of the spectrum...
Tenjou Tenge - 1.0
You know, I was thinking about giving this a 1.5 or a 2.0, but I just can't think of any redeeming qualities about this one, especially in comparison with 12Kingdoms which may be a little unfair to do, but it has to be said this one basically sucks. The dialogue, plot and characters are simply stupid... the fight scenes are boring and animation horrid, seeing as though these should be the trump cards. The most accurate word for this is "dum".

Samurai Champloo - 9/10
Fun fun fun. Reminded me of Cowboy Bebop somehow, just that it had pop music element instead of jazz. One of the best in actions I've seen to this date, I actually liked the comedy, oozes with style, combined with some of japanese history, extremely entertaining watch. Another common factor this anime shares with Bebop that I also liked was the notion of death, how others perceive and deal with it. Also episodic in nature, is it really a flaw? Bleh...
Infinite Ryvius - 9.475/10
One of the 'huge' ones. Music worked incredibly well to establish mood, children of ryvius make up one of the most fascinating and diverse microcosm in the genre. It was bit sad when the anime ended, to part with those characters.
Hellsing - 6/10
What a stupid vampire anime. Alucard and Ignito had some style in voice and appearance but nothing more. I liked Integra though. Oh, I also like how they say 'A~men', 'Guudd Naighte Misss Hellssingge~', 'mai masta', etc...
and that laughing priest was just wrong

Slayers: 7 Overall a fun romp in an intereting fantasy world. Very funny most of the time (the 'that time of the month joke is gold!). Downsides are: occasional dodgy animation, some continutiy issues (some things just happen...you know they were here one scene, and suddenly they are over there), and at times I felt like Gourry when it came to explanations....huh?
Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid 8.5/10
Much like it's predecessor, The Second Raid is once a again a nice mixture of gorgeous animation, likeable characters, except for the villans I found them to stale, even though there was some diversity between them, and an engaging story. This time around though the story doesn't know how to maintain a balance between the action; which has improved from the first, drama, and comedy, something I really admired about he first one. Also I'm a little disappointed that the creators again neglected to give information about the Whispered, Mithril, and certain side characters, something I was hoping for them to touch up on in this installemnet. I agree with you on everything, but I gave it a "6".

The Legend of Black Heaven: 4.5. Low-budget, cheesy, campy, stupid, but somehow entertaining.

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou: Quiet Country Cafe: 7
I'm not really so sure why I enjoyed the original more than the sequel; perhaps it's because after seeing the first two, I was losing a bit of my tolerance for the quiet, slow pacing. A bit. I still enjoyed it. Also, did I miss something? The second series left me rather confused, as it placed characters I had never seen before at the most random times. In response to that tall, nude robot girl, I was like, "uh... ok." Whatever.

I agree with you on everything, but I gave it a "6".
Although it was utterly predictable, the plot flowed well and sudden leaps of logic, sudden scene jumps, nonsensical technobabble, or 1 second genius conclusions were kept to a minimum (or otherwise minor enough to either overlook or simply forget), so thus the well executed part, and the 8. If any of those convient plot contrivances were in abundance, then the score would have suffered.

No, that is just you and some other people. Another way of looking at the number 10 is, that it is so good, it belongs in the very top category, along with other 10s out there. The very best of what anime has to offer. Because really, in a way, it can be argued that grading animes by single digit scale (e.g.91, 94, 93) is awefully inaccurate. How can you really say anime A was 1% better than anime B relatively? So why not just make 10 different levels of tiers, compared to 100 different levels, so we can place the animes more accurately in suitable 'field of qualities'.
And really, if that is really your way of thinking, then logically there is absolutely no possible way to grade an anime, because every anime CAN'T BE equal in quality in common sense, and if that premise is true, and if we take account of the fact that there are infinite number of animes that can possibly created, then of course the very notion of giving a quantity to an anime within a domain of 0<x<10 is absurd to the point that this is little post of mine is no longer making sense nowkthxbye

The score suffered in my book because the original '80s Appleseed OAV told the same story, but better. The focus in the sequel/movie version was on brand-new CGI graphics, while the old story and universe were rehashed and gave me nothing new.

Gee, it was actually gone! I didn't realise that. I was getting tired of the Kon one anyway, so up goes a new one I had waiting!
Ahh, now here's the difference between our scores. I haven't seen the original Appleseed, so I didn't have anything to compare the new one to, so my reasoning wasn't....tainted? No, coloured is a better term, by what has come before. Perhaps if I ever see the original I will appreciate the story more because of the second.

I do feel a sequel, especially a remake, has to differ from its predecessors. If not, that colours the way I see and grade them. Bubblegum Crisis is a good example where the same basic story and characters were churned into a fresh remake.
The original Appleseed OAV is worth a shot if you like anime with a dash of cyberpunk. It's not as elegant as the movie, but it has its moments.
Hmm, more anime...
Infinite Ryvius (up to #14): 8.3. Maybe a better psychological study than Paranoia Agent. The story moves so easily and the characters reactions are natural, but not predictable. It's hard to keep track of the sheer number of characters. I was having a hard time telling which brother was which, and several of the girls also look similar. For once, an anime that needs help in character design.

Outrageous. This show needs no help in character design. The way they speak, the clothing separations (whether it be uniforms, tidy neat blazers, carefree shirts, etc.), body language and facial expressions are all uniquely designed for that characters, to produce a fascinating microcosm of various aspects of raw humanity coming to surface, when provoked in such dire circumstances. They're all one of the most memorable characters in my book. But maybe because I've seen all the episodes. Hopefully that will change for you later.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack 9/10
First time I watched Char's Counterattack was three years ago, at the time my knowledge of the UC timeline was very little, and honestly didn't enjoy much of this movie except for the final space battle. But after improving on my UC Gundam knowledge, I thought I'd revisit Char's Counterattack and give it a second chance. I was compeletely amazed at how big of a finale it really was, it was very epic, and it draws the viewer right from the start and never lets ago. Certainly a must see for all Gundam fans of the UC timeline.
My only complaint is that in order to watch this, and be complete amazed by it, you need a vast knowledge of the Gundam UC timeline, or else you'll just be left in the cold. That and I didn't get to see the Hi-Nu Gundam (http://g_x-zero.tripod.com/hinu.jpg), aww.

Texhnolyze - 9
This is not your usual anime. Like a bizarre cross between European art house cinema, gangster flicks & mafia dramas, surrealist landscape paintings and ultra-violent science fiction, this is quite simply not a series for everyone. Whilst it does become less abstract as each episode passes, the sheer mannered pace, incredibly harsh goings-on and the intensity of it all will quite simply turn people off. A whole episode is spent on the main character's trials following his arm and leg being cut off - it's not pleasant viewing.
As Eek's review shows, a series with relatively quiet, introverted characters just won't do it for some, but to me it's the whole point of the series. You can't populate such a world as this with passionate, emotional characters because that would go against the ethos of the show - put it this way, it all becomes clearer the deeper you get, but I felt it worked perfectly, and there's no way you can't have some kind of attachment to Ichise by the end.
So. Gorgeous animation and art design, wonderful seiyuu work, one of the most bleak but original storylines I've ever seen, and the ending is sheer perfection.
If you like the sound of that (and if you don't...don't bother), this is enormously recommended for those after something a bit different.

Gunslinger Girl - 8/10:
While the anime did have great character development, some nice action scenes, and good music, I was dissapointed by the ending. It's definately one of those incomplete anime. Not only do we wonder if there's more to Jose, but it leaves me wondering about the 6 girls pasts, how the organization will turn out in the end, and what kind of closure the girls will have (could be death, could be going back to a normal life).
Initial D 1st to 3rd Stage - 7/10:
Normally, I wasn't into cars or racing, but now I certainly know a lot more about cars, and am definately a lot more interested in racing (and drifting). There's not really a plot, except for Takumi trying to be the best racer in his area, but it's still enjoyable finding out how he gets there, or how he wins/loses races. The negatives about this show is the art, which looks pretty ugly and dated (but gets a bit better as the Stages move on), sometimes the car talk gets too technical if you're not paying attention and willing to learn more, and most of all, Itsuki. If you've seen the show, you know what I mean. Why can't he just die?
But the biggest positive to the show is the Euro soundtrack. I love "Remember Me" and "Speedy Speed Boy".
Nausicaa: Valley of the Wind - 9/10. My only complaint was that the movie moved a bit slow and was a bit too long, which could hurt the rewatchability factor. Other than that, it was a very compelling anime, with a well thought out world, and characters. A great story too. It kind of reminds me of Princess Monoke's style. One question though. Is Nausicaa wearing tan coloured pants, or is just not wearing any pants beneath her short/skirt at all? Because if the second choice is true, when she's flying that aircraft, she better watch out for peeping toms.
I'm in the process of watching GTO. So far, from what I've watched, I'll give it a 9/10. It's funny, the characters are compelling, and the whole show has a very energetic feel to it.
And speaking of rating things, while I think Naruto so far deserves between a 7 - 7.5/10 (excluding the new filler), the English dub is horrible. Naruto sounds like a Beyblade kid, and Kakashi sounds really weird (and the voice actor does a real bad job of acting). So for the English Dub, I'd subtract a point or 1.5 to give it 6 - 6.5/10.

Saw Naruto 162 yesterday pretty stupid as usual. This time it's with ghosts oooooooo :kain: They really need to move on as I've said before. It's getting ridiculous i mean every 2 episodes is another stupid little story that no one cares about. There are a few funny moments but thats about it. I mean they made up a country called the Bird Country, please spare me the agony. This week i give it a 6.3 and thats being generous.
BLOOD+ episode 8 was very good. Saya infiltrates the girls boarding school to discover the secret of the phantom lurking in the tower on the school grounds. It's a interesting story that her new roomate tells her about the phantom's past and it's cool the Chriptoeran thing ties into it. So I give it an 8.4.

Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid: 10
I just finished watching the whole new season. It is excellent. The story line is basically like the first season, but they semed to have added in some of the comedy from Fummufu as well. Chidori is probably one of the best written female characters in anime. And in Second Raid the development of her character reaches new hights. i don;t want to give away anythig, but she has to overcome a huge obstical, and by doing so you see how being with Sosuke has changed her. Als, you see Sosuske struggle with his place in the world, and Tessa has to deal with the responsiblity that comes with her position. When this is released in North America it's a definite must have.

Rurouni Kenshin: Episodes 1-4
So far Kenshin is the biggest mixed bag I've come across since Gasaraki. Some action scenes were very well choreographed while others were just a shakey screen with flashes of light for sword strikes. The traditional and steel drum based background music was beautiful but the rock music just seemed out of place. Perhaps the most annoying aspect was Kenshin's seiryu and dialect. He sounded too femmine and if I would've heard the words oro/ara one more time I would've screamed, plus I think "gozaru" is probably the most annoying verb in any language. Ever. I find the real strong point of Kenshin so far however is the characters, specifically Kaoru. It was just good to see a leading female who could hold her own for once.
I usually like to only post completed anime in this thread and given the size of the series, the historical context and the absolute awesomeness that is the Samurai X OVAs I would like to continue, but the chances of me buying/aquiring/renting a series this big looks pretty dim, so blah.

Wow just wow! I saw the first four episodes of this series two years ago but never thought I'd ever finsh it, but this week I finally had a chance to see it all, and boy am I ever glad that I did. That ending was just fanatasic, it completely took me by surprise, I'd watch this series over and over again for the ending itself. Anyways Gungrave starts off a little boring and cliched, and the first episode spoils a scene in episode 14 that I thought could've been even more breathtaking if we hadn't already know Brandon Heat was dead. But Gungrave quickly redeems itself after the first five or six episodes, with solid characters, great action, suffused with drama and a great plot with plenty of twists. I highly recommend this to anyone who hasn't yet seen it.

I think 13 was fine. Maybe because I personally like more condensed forms, especially psychologically intriguing ones like this.
I too liked the fillers, as they made the paranoia aspect of the show more interesting while taking a break from the main story.

Kare Kano - 8.5
I must have started this series about 3 years ago, just a little after I actually started watching anime, and I still haven't quite finished coz my copy of episode 26 was incomplete for some insane reason (my contacts are so unreliable). So this still isn't a completely informed opinion, but if someone can give me a compelling reason to acquire the last episode, just tell me, otherwise I'll assume it isn't just judging from the blue pencil drawings of the first few minutes.
Anyway, the actual content of the show is brilliant. The premise is pretty simple, but creatively uses the characteristics of Miyazawa so well. As it proceeds, you can see her changing, and all the other characters coming into their own making a really worth while viewing experience. The opening and ending themes are perhaps one of the more memorable ones around too. They just seem to be able to fit so much in the time they have.
Unfortunately, this one seems to fluctuate wildly between brillant and awful. The worst being the 2 (equivalent) full recap episodes, the choice of animation style in one of the later episodes (which seems like an attempt to keep the budget down), and just generally the show seems to run out of steam towards the end with a few of the threads being left untied (last episode withstanding).

Finally....
School Rumble: 7 This is a fun romantic romp overall. There are a number of laugh out loud parts to it, and it manages to maintain a good humour throughout the series. Also, the trials and tribulations of Harima are strangley believable and understandable, which makes this show rather engaging. There are 3 things that let it down however. The first is our main love interest, Karasuma. He is flat as a board, and about as deep as one as well. There is nothing that sets him up as a rival at all, so it makes it difficult to root for him. Secondly, by ep. 17, some very interesting love polygons are set up, but after that, no much are done with them. By ep. 20, the show starts to drag a little. And finally, the last couple episodes were very silly, not an ending befitting the strong start this show had.
However, I get the impression that there is going to be, or was intended to be another season, so here's hoping it comes out soon, and wraps everything up.

I recently saw the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Superman Legend OVA It's sorta like a really silly comical ninja turtles mini series, but and basically makes no sense whatsoever. I mean they just go right into this story about mutastones and transformations and stuff with these two fairies. But there is no explanation about why they are there the narrarator justs introduces the storyline in the beginning but just the real basics. But it is a fun sit down to watch even though it's only two episodes. I give it a 7.0. It's worth a shot if you like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and you should cause they rock!

But what really got me was the story and how realistic the feelings were. It really had me caring about the characters and there problems. I watched all 24 episodes in less that a week which to some is not a lot of anime but for me is pretty serious.

Gunslinger Girl: 8 Wow. I don't think I've seen something like this since Haibane Renemi. This is an awesome show, mainly character driven but with a good deal of gun toting action thrown in. The main points loser for it is that it's too damn short. Things leave off somewhat unresolved. I normally don't put spoilers in these things but:
I think it would have been so much more awesome to have compared how the girls felt about the deaths of Elsa, who was someone they didn't really care about, and Angelica, who was special to them, and how Marco felt as well.
There, had to be said.
Edit: Also a note about Fumoffu. Dear god, my spleen is still hurting. Episodes 7,8, and 9 are worth dying for. Personal favourites are 'well actaully koallas are ill tempered creatures....' and the penalty box.

Your Under Arrest: The Motion Picture - 8.5/10
Miyuki and Natsumi are back, this time in movie form. I have a thing for police anime and I'd have to say this was pretty good. Filled with humor and action, with a touch of romance. The ending could of done without the cheesy, slow-motion, scene though.

Yesterday I saw the Ninja Gaiden OVA or movie or whatever you wan to call it. It was 50 mins, so call it whatever you want. The animation is very old style I thought it was made in the 80's it's from 1991. There is basically no plot whatsoever. There are some cool action scenes that are kinda gory. It's good for a few action sequences but thats about it. I give it a 6.0.
Well, I just watched the first season of GTO, which is quite the 10. :3

9/10
Extremely fast paced and heart pounding action. Characters that you find yourself sticking to and interested in their developments and story.
The final battle with Kyoji Mujo was good and enjoyable but a tad disappointing. It was a little predictable. However, I loved the last episode, the best and most dramatic final battle. It did leave just a FEW things left to be desired, but all in all a good ending that wasn't too gushy or too sad.

Samurai Champloo - 7.8/10
This was kind of a hit and miss anime. It started out exciting and kept my attention for about the first 10 - 12 episodes, then it got a bit stale from there on, but picked back up again by episode 23 (the baseball episode. Best episode in the series, in my opinion). Then it felt like a rollercoaster ride that wouldnt stop until the last episode's credits rolled. Anyways, an interesting concept, very stylish, and great fighting (like Mugen's breakdance fighting). It wasnt too heavy on a plot, but I think there's more character development in it that people give it credit for. Do we need to find out about everyone's pasts in every single anime? I think the way the characters have acted have shown the type of people they've always been throughout the series, and that the characters were very likeable. Anyways, give this anime a go. It's not a must see, but it's certainly worth watching through at least once.

SuperGals episode 1-7: 8/10 So far I'm really enjoying watching this series, it's surprising to me. I find that it's just normal teen life for high school girls, though the drama in some parts is kind of cheesy. I really like the main character, Ron, how she just goes on her own flow, she is a ditz and terrible at school just like a regular shojo hero, however, she some how has the goofy personality to be both enteraining and that annoying part that always follows along. So far this series is pleasing to watch, and I hope to see more episodes soon.

8/10
Fantastic music, and VAs (both sub version). The fights are really engaging and each episode is better than the last. However, there are a few boring parts in the early episodes. Also, there are some episodes that should not be watched in a certain state of mind, otherwise you will be bored to tears. All in all, I really loved it, but it didn't live up to its full potiential, and I wish it was a little longer. Oh yeah, Nene>>>>all. :D

This movie let me down in a big way. You can tell from the first few scenes what's going to happen. The only real thing to look forward to is the variety of interesting creatures that show up along the way. There was just nothing special to separate it from a million other kind-hearted-hero-saves-the-world stories.

Well I know this is kinda of a late warning but:
Ninja Gaiden - 3.0
The fact that it has a semi-coherent plot is its best feature unfortunately with particularly bad animation and sound effects even considering its age. For something supposedly made in 1991 this seems to reek of the 80's, with the style of clothes, the music, and even how the plot works as well - and by that I mean these no-brain action-type stories that seemed to be prevalent back in the day.
Not good, but still (amazingly) a lot worse out there too.
Elfen Lied - 7.0
Not really sure what to make of this show. It certainly has a fairly interesting premise that's supported quite well with its characters, but I can't say I was pulled in with the shock factor of random gore. The story was good enough to keep me watching despite this, but nothing absolutely stunning to outright overcome this.

Great addition to the FMP franchise that seems to improve with each new series.
Unlike Fumoffu, there is a huge amount of emotional and character development and a much more mature and graphic depiction of the miltary is taken as well.

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shambala - 8
Caught this early last week way before the rest of you and to be honest, this was both exactly what and not what I expected. A weird, mildly depressing film that ties up some loose ends from the series (which probably ended better) and pushes the characters in new directions that some fans may not be happy with, this is ultimately a satisfying epilogue to one of the greatest anime series ever made.
Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: A New Translation -Heirs to the Stars- - 8.5
I'd like to add that I haven't seen the original Zeta series yet besides the first episode, but I'm more than up on my UC knowledge. Go me. Pacing issues aside (as I expected, so I didn't really care all that much) this is a very good film. The gorgeous new animation blends surprisingly well with the older, 80's style and the action and characterisation are done pretty well, considering. The film as a whole is littered with some genuinely wonderful moments, neat music and some pleasingly brutal mech fights. I look forward to seeing the next two.

I don't know if I'm missing something here or if there's an OVA I'm suppose to watch, but I really felt that there were far too many questions left unanswered in this show. Wow. This was amazing. The music was brilliant, the voice acting was some of the most realistic I've ever heard, and the atmosphere was so involving that I felt distinctly uncomfortable when the train made a stop in a place where it was suddenly daylight.
I still don't understand several things, such as the significance of the bird-catcher, who the shadowy guy with him was, and what happened to Giovanni's father. Oh yeah, and why the hell were they cats? That seemed like a really random creation decision.

For a quick paced movie, it was very entertaining. While lacking the time to be as profound as its series counterpart, the movie does an excellent job capturing and maintaining the viewer's interest. Mainly because of the fillers and like 3 or 4 more months of filler to come but the last couple fillers saved it a bit with a half-assed plot. Though the manga would get about a 9.5.

For the most part this is because of Ueki... he's so stupid, I can't help but get a laugh from him every episode. Only other reason is because I always like the "get power from protecting" theme (like Naruto but not as lame as DBZ).

X TV (Episodes: 13-24): 9.2/10 Wow, this anime is surely something else, a great group of characters that you can find at least one you like, and most of the people in the story have there backstory and personalities fleshed out only in this 24 episode series. I was dissappointed by not being able to see any backstory for some of the characters such as Nataku, Princess Hinoto, and Kanoe. They were a big part in the series along with others though they were never fully shown in there own characters aspect. The series is great, great character designs, great story, and an ending that left me satisfied. (I would've liked to know more, but you can't ask for everything^^.) One last thing that did dissappoint me is that one episode was completely on flashbacks and scenes we have already seen constantly throughout the show already, and that whole episode was dedicated about Kamui's dream while lying under a tree...I found that episode could've been shortened by 15 minutes and use that time to show other characters. Other than the two flaws I stated above, I was quite pleased with this series and it's a very good anime that everyone should get a chance to see once.

AA! Megami-sama: 8 I've been looking forward to the AA! My Goddess TV series for some time now, and I wasn't disappointed. It does move at a slower pace than one would consider normal, but that didn't bother me. With nice visuals and a decent soundtrack, this is a must see for all AA! Megami-sama fans, and recommended for anyone who likes romantic drama. however, things that knocked points off: There were time when I'd wish they'd stop repeating each others names.....Keiichi-san....Belldandy......Keiichi-san!.....Belldandy!.....Gah! shut up and kiss her already! Episode 13 was a bit much to stomach, and I wish they went into the background of Marller. But, with a second series coming up, I'm hoping that's gonna be answered. Comedy - 9 or 10
Sheesh. That was pretty damn cool.
Honey and Clover 9.5/10
When I picked this up on a whim back in early November, and after doing a little research on the title I half expected it to be another boring romantic comedy, despite reading Soundchazer's and many others reviews, and just neglected it, letting it sit on my Hard Drive for about a month, until I ran out of One Piece episodes and opened it up out of boredom. But I was very wrong to neglect such a wonderful series, right from the beginning I was drawn in into the story and the lives of these characters, except for Takemoto and Hagu because they seemed annoying, as the story progressed the characters, especially Takemoto who I disliked at the beginning really began to grow on me. It was really enjoyable watching these characters mature into adulthood, even Morita who for the majority of the show acts like a three year-old with his crazy antics, always looking for some attention. My only complaint about this series is Hagu, I accepted her character because she was essential in flushing out Takemoto's and Morita's characters, but as for her character I found it to be pretty constant, which kind of disapointed me, I was hoping I would come to love all of the characters. As for the ending of the series, I was rather pleased with it, so I have no real complaint about it, although I was expecting the relationship between Hagu and Takemoto to start up much sooner, but that didn't happen.
I highly recomend this series to people who love a good ol' dramas and to people who love romantic comedies. With such a lovable cast, real life situations and a great plot filled with romance, drama, and comedy you certainly wont be disapointed.

The Cat Returns - 9.0
Another great Ghibli movie that I'll save on my shelf and hopefully show to my future children. Maybe I'm just getting better at distinguishing Japanese words, but the voice acting seemed especially animated and realistic. Though the formula was a little classic-- girl is whisked away by over-the-top insane evil king then rescued after many dangerous feats--, but it remained fresh and entertaining throughout. The characters were enchanting, the atmosphere was vibrant; just very uplifting and exciting overall. Yay.

One of my new favorite animes, Infinite Ryvius delivers dimensional and complex characters, chilling drama, and some of the deepest themes you'll see in anime. Such as the leaving of children to their own devices, ultimately bringing the group to a downfall so bad that they eventually turn on eachother.

Appleseed: 8/10
Holy mother of God, did those fight scenes/mecha kick arse! And this is coming from someone who usually isn't entertained by either of the two. Story, started off a little like your average action blockbuster but went exponential as it progressed. My main gripe is with the animation. Cell shading for character designs just looks weird on realistic 3-D backgrounds. Chracter's hair looked like plasticine, clothes all looked synthetic, and shadows and highlights were just unnatural at times. All in all, as good as the eye candy was, it came off as tentative.
Naruto: Episodes 1-3: 7.5/10
Alright! I relent! I'll f***ing watch it! Although it was a little crass at times, the action kicked arse, actual thought was put into plot lines and the 80's music was all kinds of awesome. Although, I'll still wear my "I hate Naruto" badge. Just because I can.
ONE: 2/10
Boooooooooorrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing. It had a narative drive that makes a funeral procession look like Nascar. The stories themselves were like an impotent Days of our Lives. This was a beautiful, if brief, little show. The art and music were innovative and enchanting. But, if it does have a message, it leaves the viewer to fend for him/herself. Wonderfully melodramatic, gorgeous to look at and full of yet more awesome angela music, another hour of Fafner is certainly not to be sniffed at. Ai Yori Aoshi: 6 The first thing I thought when I saw this.....OK, the first thing I thougtht when I saw this was 'No matter how you look at it, boobs without nipples are strange'. I notice these things, so sue me.
In the end this was mediocre. Between episode 3 and episode 23 nothing happened, which was disappointing, as I thought the whole 'f*** you family!' thing was interesting. And in the final episode, nothing much happened. The main leads are just too damn nice. Sickenly nice, and far too easily embarressed.
Kaoru isn't a graduate of Keichii's School of Wussery, which is almost non-stereotypical, he's just annoyingly nice. But all the others fall into your usual stereotypes you find in harem anime. I got a few laughs out of Tina, but on the whole the comedy was rather lame.
Still, it had just enough of a spark to keep me watching, so it's not all bad.

The Twelve Kingdoms - 9.5
Oh snap, I've finally finished The Twelve Kingdoms! It took me far too long to actually get off my arse and buy the show, but I'm so glad I did.
Not once did this series let me down. Every arc was awesome, the character development absolutely magnificent (I don't think I've seen any anime with character development this amazing), the animation always consistent and attractive...and so well-written, too.
I'm sad that there isn't going to be anymore, because despite 45 episodes worth, you still feel that you've only scratched the surface of such an amazing, vivid world that the series inhabits.
A series I'll be revisiting many times in the future. And honestly as fantasy anime goes, you won't get much better than this. Hell, it's far better than Escaflowne and Fushigi Yuugi to name a few.
Highly recommended.

When I first started watching the first episode of L/R I really thought nothing of it until about half way through when the series charmed me over with its wit and amusement which becomes so effortlessly entertaing that sometimes you just wish that there was alittle more for you to sink your teeth into. Even despite having two great lead characters Jack and Rowe, I thought they could have been alittle more appealing if everything didn't quite come to them so easily. My other problem with the series is the plot. What seems like an intriguing storyline involving the search for the Fifteen Year Princess and some potentially deep and dark secrets hidden by the Royal Family, at times just isn't all that interesting, and I found the episodes not dedicated to the main arc more entertaining. Well with that being said I find that the series does manage to wrap itself up in a nice neat package, but not before going out with a bang.
I recommend this to anyone looking for a nice witty, amusing spy thriller to watch with gorgeous action scenes. But for those wanting to watch this hoping to find some deeper meaning than what's in your average spy flick then I'm afraid to say but you're going to be disappointed.

I agree with you about how there should have been more dedication to the plot (although being 13 eps isnt going to get you anywhere). I just wish L/R had more episodes.
*sigh*
Time will tell if there will ever be a sequal to L/R.

I would every much like that to have happened if... ...Row and Jack hadn't been killed at the end, but I guess that's uncertain considering that after the credits rolled during the final episode it appeared as though they were still alive, but I'm not entirely sure it it was a clip from before they're so called death or after.

Naruto: Episodes 4-19- 8/10
So far, I tend to have the same problem with Naruto that I did with Vandread. It's all well and good to have character development but when it has about as much subtlety as a sledge hammer to the face, it quickly becomes lame. While Naruto isn't on that same level as I found Vandread on, it sometime takes its sentimentality a bit too far. Still, the ending of that arc was exceptional and I was pretty suprised that they:
actually killed off Zabuza and Haku, as well as doing it in a way that pulled at the heart strings.
Also, in episode 17
when Naruto went crazy-nine-tailed-fox-super-saiyan
had me jump of of my chair and scream "Animation please!" becasue, damn, that was a good fight scene.
But, I'm still going to wear my "I hate Naruto" badge. Just because I can.

Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z: 5(6 to the manga)
I remember reading the mangas 5 years ago (damn, I'm old) and enjoying them somewhat. One of the only two mangas/animes to make the martial arts tournament thing properly. The anime had too much filler in it.
Yuu Yuu Hakusho :7
The other anime that made the martial arts tournament thing properly. I give 1 point more to the brazilian dub, it's just hilarious to see the kansai accent and bad boy slang being turned into a carioca accent ("rapadura é doce mas não é mole não", "rala peito, merrrrrmão")
El hazard : the alternative World: 2
Horrible, just horrible. How could they turn such a great work that was El hazard : The Magnificent World into this? Several plot holes, characters that are just forgotten in the middle of the story (first time EVER that I saw this done in any movie, Tv show or anime), ugly character design and misused pairings (Shayla Shayla/Jinnai could be such a funny one...)

Just so that I'll get this out of my system:
Berserk as Anime: 8,0
Berserk as Manga: 9,75
Even tough I'm a Berserk fan, I'll have to admit that the anime series isn't so great. Terrible opening song, not so good animation, too much filler and some questions that aren't truly answered in the anime.
As a manga, OTOH, is as close to perfection as I think a manga can be. Myura knows how to draw landscapes, cathedrals and castles with lots of detaisl. Also has the most ****ed-up cast of main characters ever, surpassing even EVA.
Battle Angel Alita as Anime: 7,25
Battle Angel Alita as Manga :9,0
Again, I'll have to admit that the anime isn't really good. Way too short, with outdated animation even by its time's standards.
However, the manga is one of the best works of science fiction I've ever read or watched. It's on par with Blade Runner, Mad Max and Asimov's novels. Great character development and the series makes some questions, like "What is Human?". The author gets bonus points for using German as the main foreign language instead of the usual English (or Engrish). Panzer Kunst, Sechs, Elf, Dwölf and other names seem to me , for some reason, better than the usual english-like names mangakas give their characters/things. Also extra points for doing research (Langrageian Points, imagining how martial arts would be in zero-G, Jacob's Ladder, etc).
Penalty points for the motorball arc and the current martial arts tournament-thing going on.
I just hope someday they will make an anime continuation for BGA and Berserk.

I think there still alive imo. Remember after jack killed that guy (who stabbed Row), Row was smiling and still lighting the lighter, so he coudn't be dead! I would love to see more adventures from them in the future because the anime dosnt get much respect in the anime community (alot of people have never heard of it or they hated the first eps). Although not the greatest anime, it still a fun anime!

Scrapped Princess: 8.5 A really solid title, this one. I like the whole techno-magic thing, and the premise was rather interesting as well. The story progresses at a nice trot, and never really lapses into mindlessness. Whilst I was expecting the type of ending, the events during the final few episodes did take me by surprise. There were some sudden conclusions at points which did seem a bit trite at times, and I dont think there was a proper resolution to the Fuelle part of the story. And Raquel's magic didn't get enough screen time. We got a glimpse of what's she's capable of, but she doesn't get a chance to cut sick. But otherwisel, a well recommended anime.
Now onto the next one! (I have 4-5 complete series collected to go through.....)
Edit: One thing I forgot to mention was the interesting use of various firearm names.....Mauser, Browning, Steyr, Armalite, CZ, SOCOM, Galil. Maybe that's because I'm weird.

URDA: 8/10
Wow. It's been a long time since an anime as surprised me so pleasantly! Yeah there are some art and animation problems, but they're completely blown out of the water by some absolutly marvellous direction and a surprisingly tight story (now that's how you do an ending twist). If you get the chance, don't hesitate in seeing it.

Inuyasha (episodes 1-136) 7.5
Inuyasha manga 7.8
It seems to me that Rumiko Takahashi is the Robert Jordan of mangakas. They both drag their stories, are afraid to really kill main characters and like to reuse some concepts in character design.
Anyway, I really liked this series but got turned off when the author brought back to life a character. You know who I'm speaking of. The anime really had splendid animation (especially in the battle scenes and when Kagome ordered Inuyasha to sit) and took more than 50 episodes to show some filler. And when it did show some filler, it was rather good filler, not DBZ-like filler.
I would recommend it even though the series seems to drag after some time. But it really takes some time (more than 100 episodes) to you notice the dragging.

Honey and clover (eps 1-8) 8.5
Wow this really just a fun anime to watch. I love all the characters in this series. I love the comedy, i love:
in eps 8 when they were playing twister! Had me in cracking up.
Gundam Z movie Heir to the Stars 9/10 excellent movie even though a ton of info was thrown at me with many things glossed over and not mentioned in depth but still exciting as shiz to watch, I think the Gundam series works better in this format but that is my opinion!

Girls Bravo ~First Season~: 5.5 I had suspicions of this going in, but I had it, so might as well watch it.
The premise is ridiculous and unbelievable. Our main lead is an honours graduate of Keiichi's School of Wussery, and can take more knocks than Keitaro. Each of the female leads fall into a cliched character, and (with the exception of the Momiji clone) all come equipped with a pair of thunderknockers as standard issue. I don't think a plot exists, and character development is minimal. There is also some awful self-censoring, at one stage to the point where the picture is unwatchable. Choosing brown a a replacement colour for blood makes it look like some other bodily function......
This is rubbish. Everything points to rubbish. Then tell me, why was I enjoying myself?
This show doesn't take itself seriously, which is a good thing. It knows what it is, and uses that to good effect. There was only 1 episode where the melodrama took over. Apart from episode 4 (and the melodrama epsidoe, I don't remember the number), the show maintains a good amusement level overall, but it was running out of steam by the final episode. The first 3 episodes are the best, IMHO. Miharu and her musings on food are strangely adorable, and each character has their style of comedy and don't stray from that.
All in all, if you're looking for quality, shield your eyes from this. But if you're looking for quick laughs and no brains (and big ga-zooma-zooms), then Girls Bravo might be worth a look.

Honey and Clover - 7.5/10
It was good but could have been more. Throughout most of the series, the characters were interesting enough for me to care for them, a drama with very easily understood meanings as they more often than not appear in the lives around us. The ending has far too many questions left unanswered, and though it some form of conclusion, I found myself still asking for more.

Excel Saga:8,5
A good parody-of-others-anime anime. Some episode's jokes aren't funny, but they are the exceptions. There are 2 "recap" or "clip show" episodes, which is a bit too much for a 26-episode anime. Newbies in the anime genre (or those who don't know much about japanese culture) won't get this anime's jokes much. Anyway, highly recommended for those who just want to have fun and have seen a lot of anime.
The 26th episode is a "too hot for tv" episode, where the humor is a bit more offensive. Let's just say that even tough I've seen South Park, Simpsons and Family Guy (and all their movies) I wasn't prepared for this. And I still laughed a lot.
Puni Puni Poemy: 5,5
Made by the same team that made Excel Saga. There's even a recurring character, in the form of the director/bad-ass-guy Nabeshin. The jokes weren't as funny as the ones in Excel Saga, but some were good. The soundtrack, by the way, is the EXACT same one as Excel Saga's (seem they cut expenses in the music department). Not so highly recommended.
Turn A Gundam- 8.5 started slow but the last ten episodesd were very exciting, good series to cap off the UC timeline!

i saw a lot of short OVA's over the weekend so here they are:
Glassy Ocean - 8.0 a well designed and interesting anime. It's a very short movie maybe only 20 or so minutes. It's not typical anime-style drawing. It looks like almost like a little kid drew it or it was from a story book. Anyway, the story is very interesting and the animation a
