What I look for in an anime:
The importants thing in an anime for me are some interesting characters and a good storyline. Without these an anime isn't an anime after all. Sure, beautiful animation or a nice soundtrack can be great too, but in the end the characters and the story are the things an anime should care about.

What I look for in an anime: To be entertaining, an anime must have great plot and/or characters. Without at least one or the other, all substance and redeeming qualities are lost. It also helps to be pretty and fun to listen to, but substance always wins over style.

What I really look for in anime is great art, music, characters, and plot. If it's a comedy, then that's a major plus. I am also willing to watch an Action or a Drama, but I refuse to watch a Romance. It's just not my cup of tea.

I am willing to sit through the worst shows if the opening/ending themes knock me out of my seat. I also find art styles an irreplacable part when it comes to rating an anime (because my speciality is ANIME Graphics [:GD]), beside crucial elements such as originality of plots and well-roundedness of characters.

What I look for in an anime: First off since i am a professor of music, I look for an intriuging soundtrack of many different genres of music. I look for a interesting plot, good characters that I feel I have learned about a lot, the artwokr must be noticable, I would like to see an anime that uses a backround with people who move rather than be seen 20 times in a row in the same scene, and a fun experience that can knock my socks off.

What I look for in an anime: Characters. Even if an anime is a plotless peice of blob, having great characters and character development would save it. Smooth character introductions are always sought primarily by myself (eg. The Cat Returns, within the first 10 minutes we know exactly who the main character is and how she feels and reacts..genius). I like my anime with fantasy; something that takes me to a magical place (cue the Ghibli thank you). I dont mind action adventure but ultra violence and giant robots can take a running jump. And forget the Eng Dubs..I'll stick to the subtitles...(Keaton as Porco!? Its gonna be rotten!)

What I look for in an anime:
When I watch anime my main goal is just to be entertained. I have a high tolerance for any lack in plot and character development as long as there are other elements, namely comedy, that make up for it. This, of course, is not to say that a great storyline lacking comedy won't captivate me. If I can become immersed within the story, no matter the genre, then I am sure to love it.

Genre of Choice: One thing I love about anime are the crazy mixtures of genre(s). Though I tend to gravitate towards Sci-fi and fantasy, I'll give (almost) anything a shot. But in the end, what I like is what I like no matter the genre.

What I generally look for in an anime is quality. The quality of the characters and story are most important, but I also think that the craftmanship of the artwork, editing, sound, and how well it all works together is important. But sometimes I like an anime just becuase I do.

Some of my all-time favorite anime:

Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Cowboy BeBop

Spirited Away
My Neighbor Tototro

What I look for in an anime:
Nail me into my chair and don't let go. Whether an anime is dealing with issues greater than life, the universe and everything or just being totally stupid doesn't matter - as long as it has a well thought out and executed story and characters I can laugh with when they're happy and cry with them when they're sad. The music is also of importance to me. Good music can make a good anime even better - and bad music can, if not completely ruin the experience, make it worse.

What I look for in an anime:
I look for a world. By that i mean something that i can immerse myself into. Something that looks good and/or feels good and/or is unique and/or..... as long as I feel that i can identify with, root for and feel with and against the characters or the world itself, that is good. Of course, more "toys" wouldn't hurt

What I look for in an anime:
I look for anime that has a deeper sense of feeling to it than just mindless gun totting, fist punching action. It needs to show emotion, whether sad or not, and the art has to come with it. I love anime that gets to the point instead of mindless fillers that don't shape the plot or the character. Let the anime delve into the deepes places of your mind. For some odd reason, I like my music load, hard, and fast. Go Figure...

What I look for in an anime:
I look for an anime to have that "special blend" of everything. The genre doesn't really matter to me, but I do prefer comedy and mind bending anime. I don't really like to watch anime that’s all blood and action or all sad and depressing. I need my eyes to see something different once and awhile. The anime needs to be made up of sugar and spice and... mmmmm, sugar and spice.... ah, um.. sorry. That "special blend" anime should consist of a grand musical score, good dialogue, good character development, superior art work, and, of course, a good plot. If an anime has all of these (or at least some of these) incorporated into one anime whether it be series, moive, or OVA, I usually end up loving it. That's why my Top 10 is always subject to change.

What I look for in an anime:
Story, Plot, Characters, Voice acting, and Art. Pretty much without them the anime falls flat IMO. Without good art we'll just be looking at another Reign anime, and we don't want that now do we?, Without Plot, Story and Characters we wouldn't be giving a dam about whats happening and who it's happening to since you just wouldn't care about it becuase it doesn't draw you in and makes you want to see what happens next. And without Good voice acting you wouldn't believe any of the characters like if the main character is this big guy and his voice is so dam annoying you want him to be dead. All anime needs these factors or else we just wont care.
